Strange. Rather strange.
Another one of those idiosyncratic art-styles due to its minimalism. But it's quite interesting especially when the rather child-like simplicity of the art clashes with the dark subject matter, the Vietnam War.
That's interesting and all, but on the whole the characters and the story are...directionless. Or they do have directions, but go all-over the place. It's just so random and nonsensical. I cannot tell if it's bad or intentionally absurd to highlight the strange things war can do. But nonetheless that it didn't really seem well-executed makes it the former for me. a POV character because he is too busy simping for the "heroine". The heroine herself is a mute warrior-type who is nigh invulnerable. Overall, you feel little. These characters are blurs, they simply move along with what existing plot there is.
It is messy. Interesting, but too messy to be anything really. It has little to say about the Vietnam War honestly, being merely the weird shenanigans of soldiers of both sides.
