This is my first yuri EVER so ofcourse im going to shower praises. As you can already tell, I am a HUGE yaoi fan looking in to yuri just next door. This is truly untrodden grounds for me so... yeah.

Also, I am a terrible reviewer so bare with me and I hope this helps.

When I thought I should start reading/watching yuri I had doubts because mostly of what I know about yuri is that it contains: ecchi, sex, fanservice, big boobs, and almost plotless... This however, proved me wrong. The feeling was light hearted and innocent from enemy to best friend without getting into the ... heart felt love quite as fast as I thought it would.Just the feeling of friendship was good enough for me.

The art was as beautiful as always, Eki Eiki.

I really enjoyed this. Hopefully I can find other yuri as great in storyline.

A yuri with a surprisingly heavy message.

(The following is revealed in the first chapter so don't worry about spoilers.) The premise of the plot is that a disease has killed all of the men and only women remain, with humanity surviving only through artificial insemination. Surprisingly, society is still gender separated, with women being divided into "Adams" and "Eves." Adams are assigned male roles and Eves are assigned female roles.

The story follows Aoi, an Adam whose goal is to overturn the status quo and get revenge (what for is something you should read for yourself). He especially hates the etoiles, the elites of society. ... Unexpectedly, at his time with the school, he develops a friendship with one of them. What this friendship grows and develops into is something you'll have to see for yourself. But of course, this story is tagged "yuri" for a reason.


Overall, I found the plot to be quite interesting. The obstacles they faced were not trivial. Despite hating the "antagonist" from the beginning, I eventually realized that no one was truly evil. Everyone had their own reasons and their own motivations. I enjoyed the conclusion as well. In many ways, it follows a "school yuri" format. In all significant aspects, however, it is definitely something different. I found the pacing to be very reasonable.

The art is fine, it did not distract me from the main story.

I appreciated the characters. The side characters were especially enjoyable.


It might be weird for some people as this story is almost a "yaoi relationship within a yuri relationship." However, for me, it is definitely yuri.

The themes of the story especially impacted me. Like how, in a world with only one sex, there still can be discrimination and limitations on who we can love. The backstories on some of the parents of the characters were especially sad. It's also a commentary on how not following social constructions as arbitrary as the ones in the story (dividing the female gender into two separate genders) can cause us to be left out and shunned. And, of course, similar to many other yuri mangas, this story is also a testament to the powers of love.

Anyway, sorry about this rambling and this non-traditional review. Despite being only 17 chapters, this manga ranks as one of my favorites.

I have to admit, this story made me hold my breath, especially at the end of the story. None the less, let me get to the major points first.

As for the plot of this story, I found it be rather interesting, and unique in it's own way, with the fact that they had to overcome obstacles, which I feel like allowed the story to develop in the way that it did. I have to say, at first i did not quite like the attitude of the antagonist, but I came to realise that in fact no one was truly an "evil" character to begin ... with. They just simply had their own reasons, for going about things the way that they did.

As a whole the storyline kept well together, and I feel like there was nothing actually missing from it. Perhaps, there could have been just a few more chapters, to see how the story could develop, after they have over came their struggles. At firs though, I have to admit I was confused as for the genders, I though that in fact one of the main characters, was in fact a male not a female. This is just unfortunately my misunderstanding of the story. I thankfully realised that this was not the case, rather quickly.

I probably say this not only in many of my reviews, but just in general, that this is in fact one of my many favoured mangas. I recommend that if you want a Yuri story, that does not follow a typical storyline, and concept then you should give this manga a try. Highly recommend it.
