The continent Murgenia, where they master swordsmanship and magic:
The small country Sunkwoll is in a tight spot because it's under attack of the great country Zarmine. But the general, Rain, who's reputed to be an exceptionally gifted swordsman, is against the war and won't enter the battle. But how is one supposed to wage a war like this anyway?
Rain, though it seems to be a little known manga, is actually quite a good quick read. Although I expected the typical kingdom-war kind of story, and it did follow that stereotype quite a bit, it was hilarious at some parts. The first few chapters have a bare thread plotline linking several characters in different places, but gets better as the story moves forward.
Artwise, the character designs are rather simple, but come together nicely; I personally liked it, but different people have different tastes
Character development was a bit limited, with the main character (Rain) being rather interesting/mysterious, but the rest don't get
much time to develop
I have to say, I actually enjoyed the manga more than I first expected, just because of the moments that make you snicker and laugh out loud...overall, if there were more chapters released (only 6 as of now) I believe this would turn out into a great manga
I was browsing around looking for a good fantasy and i saw this manga rain.At first i was hesitant as this seem like one of those mangas where the main character would probably be ridiculously overpowered and even though the main character is indeed very strong i still enjoyed reading it.
Art- The art of this manga is pretty simple isnt the most outstanding i have ever seen however the art matches its medieval kind of setting.
Story- The basic story is about The continent Murgenia, where they master swordsmanship and magic: The small country Sunkwoll is in a tight spot because it's under attack of
the great country Zarmine. But the general, Rain, who's reputed to be an exceptionally gifted swordsman, is against the war and won't enter the battle. Basically a country surrounded by other countries with the threat of war.The story is ok and it does get expanded upon to involve the relationship between the countries, war tactics, politics and there is hint of this world being like an alternate version of our own however what i like most about this manga are the characters.
Characters- The reason i like this is cause of the characters especially the main character rain.At first he seems like the typical main character. He seemed to be dumb however that is quickly changed as he is revealed to be very intelligent. He schemes and make plans and predicts outcomes to wars.Rain past also is what interest there are hints of a tragic past however it hasn't been fully revealed yet though i know there is a side story about his past about being a vampire hunter.Rain has also become dead to emotions like love though he isn't oblivious to it.Speaking of vampires that's another thing this series has it has other races such as demons, vampires and even dragons. Also so far no character in the story has been completely useless everyone has a purpose even this guy in there i completely hated at the end turn into a good character.
Summary if you want a good fantasy manga you should definitely check this out it has a bit of comedy, the world setting is interesting and the characters are likeable and the good thing is even though this manga at this moment has 52 chapters it has about 40 pages per chapter so it will take you a while to read.
Rain is a tale of a knight and his princess, as he strives to protect her and the small country that she will be queen of.
And unfortunately, it's boring as hell and painful to read.
Most notably, it reads out like a Mary Sue fic. And as a result, there is no tension in this story. It's a fantasy slice-of-life story without the comedy, and its attempts at drama and plot becomes irrelevant because the presentation is so dull, and the complete lack of realism makes it difficult at best to take it seriously.
What is a real pity is that the plot isn't that bad; it's
consistent and has a decent pace. But the presentation is too dull and quickly becomes boring at best. The characters are also decently fleshed out, which is notable considering the size of its cast, but it does so at the expense of its supposed "main" character. And most importantly, the characters feel out of place and do not synergize with their positions at all, almost as if they were randomly plucked from a Disney movie.
The only part of this manga that can be praised without significant fault is its art, but it's not exceptional either, and unfortunately, art alone cannot carry a work alone.
Overall, the manga faces significant problems from its lack of tension and realism, making for a very dull, and unenjoyable story.
Ummmm...well, Rain is a kind of manga with that cliche kind of story really.A love story between a young princess and yep u guessed it, the strongest knight of the kingdom 'Rain'.
Even though the story is predictible however the art is awesome and the characters are very likeable. The battle sequences are very good as well but for me the heart and soul of this manga is basically Rain. His strenght, laid back back personality and sometimes his over the top antics give this manga a life.
So overall I would say it
is a good read definately worth your time if you like the classic type of love story.
