Preliminary (4/? chp)
Whoa. This manga totally exceeds its description. It’s a bit like Fujimoto and Togashi had a secret love child. Immediately the way of doing paneling, the pacing and casual world building is superb. On one hand it’s got a strong 90s/00s vibe to it but on the other hand it feels really fresh.
The way this story is told is definitely the standout feature for this manga. Instead of starting out with some big hero journey or tragedy it starts out almost… mundane. Lots of time is spent showing the world and the characters emotions. It’s plot boils down to an average shonen plot but it’s ...

In the unfair, competitive world of Shonen Jump publication, early cancellation is a fate that the vast majority running through its pages will inevitably face. And whenever the subject comes up, what’s often remembered are the good ones, well-made series cruelly ended before they got their time to shine. Other times, a canceled series is so obviously, overwhelmingly bad that few shed tears over its demise and one has to wonder how the hell it even got published in the first place.

And, in the awkward middle of these two extremes, there are series like MamaYuyu. Series which might have shown promise when they began, but ...

Mamayuyu has swiftly captured my attention with its sharp paneling and charming cast.

Populated with humans, demons, and a unique hero – demonlord dynamic, this urban fantasy world is reminiscent of early 00s manga like Fullmetal Alchemist with cobblestone cities and a hard magic system that is easy to intuit. The manga presents our protagonist, Corleo, with the conventional shounen quest of growth and mastery of his role as this world's hero. But even among familiar tropes and an expanding supporting cast, Mamayuyu quickly adapts to its own pace as each new chapter further endears readers to its memorable characters.

With an engaging story and ...

WOW.
Review:
Art & Visuals: The art stood out. I really enjoyed the details of it.
Characters: As I saw Corleo I thought to myself it would be like any average hero.
But I couldn't stop reading until I reached the current episode. I am very curious about it's development.
Mamama- I liked the design of the character, and expecting to see more of it.
Story & Plot: The story feels unique and not like any other manga. The pace was very good and I really love it.
Emotional Impact: As I started reading, I got very invested and really into it. I waiting to see what comes next and I hope ...

Preliminary (20/? chp)
Mama Yuuyuu starts off with an interesting premise: in a world of peace between humans and demons, heros and demons from other worlds begin to appear and fight. However, through horrible pacing, the manga flies through support characters, bog standard shonen tropes, losing any real flair while leaning into harem-eque character creation and a nonsensical plot.

For example, the first chapters set up dual protagonists between Mamama and Corleo, but Mamama quickly disappears into the background of the story, rarely appearing overall. This choice hurts any immediate and easy development between the characters. Corleo is forced into a situation where he has no established relationships, and ...

Mixed Feelings
MamaYuyu got a lot of attention when it's first chapter was released for it's inventive paneling and great worldbuilding, but it did not manage to keep that hype up and got axed after lackluster sales of volume 1.

MamaYuyu started out really well with a interesting plot, a world with a lot of depth and really fun and interesting characters. It looked like it would be really good. But then it turned out that the reception of the series was lackluster, atleast in Japan. To try and combat this the author changed the series to more of a harem series, which left the readers with ...
