Synopsis

Afflicted from birth by a strange and unknown illness, a boy of noble blood expects to pass away without ever being cured. One day, however, he awakens without experiencing his accustomed agony; he also can no longer feel his heart beating.

Introduced to the fearsome Holos Carmen, the anonymous boy is addressed as "Fleshman" and renamed as "End." He soon realizes that he has been resurrected thanks to necromancy, and now he must obey every instruction given to him by Lord Holos. Forced to fight against wild animals in the forest, he grows stronger with each kill he makes, and he is subject to scrutiny by Holos, who eagerly awaits the day when End will amass enough power to transform into a "ghoul."

Despite his present circumstances, End considers this undead life to be an improvement over his human one. Nonetheless, unable to tolerate the loss of his free will, he plots to escape from Holos' control—to this end, he has been hiding the fact that he had already become a ghoul some time ago!

The art is beautiful, not unique but definitely nicely drawn and nice to look at.

The story on the other hand, had soooooo much potential if it was longer, however it wasn't bad. It started off good but then it seemed rushed, the ending was kind of open ended but also with some closure while also being the beginning of a whole new story which we are left to wonder and want to read which sadly won't be continued. At least not that I have heard of it going to be longer. The MC didn't want power he just wanted to live, from the beginning ...

Just found this manga. Only found 4 chapter so far and not much has happened yet but what it has been setting up seems interesting and has been entertaining. The main character seems clever and is taking to his new “life” pretty well gathering information and doing what he needs to to secure his freedom in his new body. I’m curious if the necromancy lord will remain a recouping character either as an ally or an enemy, or if he will be killed by end in order for him to claim his freedom from him. It’s a good start on a monster protagonist story and ...
