when i first started reading this I did not have any high expectations for this, and I'm pretty glad I didn't.

Let's start with the Story.
as I said I try not to expect much when it comes to the "smutty shojo" genre because rarely (sometimes but rarely) do I find one with a good plot. when I first started reading Love Monster I started thinking this one might be one of those rare one's but down the line i learned it was far from.the main character Hiyo is our typical heroine wants to help everyone cry baby type who gets into trouble and kurou is the ... typical "hero" do anything for his girl save her from all situations. there are other characters but because in almost every 3 chapters someone comes along to fall in love with hiyo or try to break up their relationship there's to many to name. And yes that's basically the first 40+ chapters so you see why i'm dissapointed and then a secret hidden plot is announced but l suggest you not expect to much from this. The plot is at a lot of times confusing and it seems the author just pulled it out of her ass, and everytime there's something with potential she ends it to quickly. if you're looking for a smutty manga you can leave right now because there's very little smut in it at all. >:( but one good point this manga is very funny it always kept me laughing. 6/10

THE ART
the art was the saving grace to this manga every scene looked nothing short of great. There was always detailed background even if that place was only showed on one page. the only bad thing is that the male characters all looked alike which got confusing at times. (I believe there were so many male characters the mangaka couldn't think of anymore ideas) 8/10

CHARACTERS
As I said before there were a lot of characters which left little to no room for development. so If your reading this manga and a character annoys you they'll most likely annoy you to the end. 4/10

Enjoyment
honestly even after my rant I can still say I somewhat enjoyed it. If you're looking for a manga with the boy always protects girl no matter what or you want to have some laughs at a few perverted jokes then this manga might be for you. 6/10

OVERALL
Even though this story can get annoying or seriously confusing the one thing that kept it going was the romance (and humor) so adding the romance +plot+art+funnies i give it a fair 6/10

Light porn is all i can say.

The girl gets molested in almost every frame. its quite sad frankly.

The ending was lame but w/e it was enjoyable and i can't say i didnt have fun reading it. Tho i cringed at some parts.

Characters are rather shallow and dumb

Art was ok

... story...to this day i still don't really get what the point of the story was. WELL i do but it doesn't seem worth remembering.

I say all this but i did read it to the end so i guess its worth reading for those who like this kind of thing.

Alright kids let's review the manga I have felt the most guilt over enjoying.
I first read this manga when I was in middle school and decided to read it again as a freshman in college for nostalgia reasons. There might be some spoilers, but I'll try my best.

To start off we have the heroine, Hiyo, the most static shojou character ever invented. Why do I say this? Because she is like every other stereotypical shojou heroine. She can't protect herself, has no common sense, cares for others on a scale of mass proportions, and is "not the prettiest girl around but boys still fall ... for her like dominos". This manga is the biggest reverse harem ever created. Literally every boy falls for Hiyo and either tries to rape or molest her. Seriously, it feels like at least every few chapters Hiyo gets kidnapped, gets her clothes ripped off and gets fondled before Kurou comes to save her. Then she just completely gets over it and it's like none of those traumatic experiences ever happened~
Let's no even talk about how Kurou pretty much molests her when she firsts gets to the school. Eventually she falls in love with him which seems like a weird form of Stockholm syndrome. But it's ok because Hiyo's father promised Kurou that Hiyo could be his fiancee and also Hiyo asked Kurou to marry her when they were three so it's totally valid obviously! Not to mention he's pretty much been stalking her ever since then, but she saved his life so it's ok right. So pretty much this dude is obsessed with this girl he had a relationship with when he was 3 or 5 years old.
But on another note, this manga is very charming. I don't know if this is just the 12 year old girl in me trying to push its way through, but I did find it enjoyable to read again (minus the cringe-y parts). The way the mangaka draws Hiyo's funny expressions and the way she interacts with people is funny and entertaining, and the overall story is ok. Some of the characters are very lovable and in the end you find yourself routing for Hiyo and Kurou to have a happy ending.
And now I'm going to talk about the art. The art is really give or take. There are some very beautiful illustrated parts in this manga. The wings she depicts are stunning, and her landscape layout in the Western Campus is beautiful. But there are also some parts that will just make you go: "What the actual fuck?". The mangaka is notorious for drawing what are called "yaoi hands", hands that are so large they make you feel a wide range of discomfort. The proportions of the characters, the sizes of their bodies, and their height change constantly.

What I'm trying to say is, if you have a guilty pleasure for really stereotypical bad shojou with demon/monster characters in it like I do, you will probably really enjoy reading this manga, but if you are about an interesting female character who can handle herself, turn away now.

This was a guilty pleasure for me. I don't think it's that great of a manga, nor is it a great romance, but I enjoyed it. I think my first issue with this manga is at it's core the main characters. The girl is just very childish and can't do anything for herself, and I get that that's her thing, but I just don't enjoy stories when the characters are completely incompetent. The guy was also too possessive for me to like, I didn't like how much he forced onto her and didn't let her have any say on things. It just made for a ... very toxic relationship.
The plot was really good at the start, and with each new character(well at least most) it got more interesting. As the supporting cast was more interesting than the main two. At the end though the story deescalated and everything that the story was building up to kind of just felt average. It kind of felt like "wow, this is what I was waiting for." Also a lot of other sub plots were left unresolved which was a bit frustrating. This story definitely had a lot of potential, it just didn't have good enough main characters to carry it.

Okay.. it was bad. I'm sorry but it was really bad. I read it just for the hot guys and smut.

Story --
It had the potential to be interesting, it had a good start and from there various things happened. The conflicts, as predictable as they were, could have been more engaging, could have been developed more! Everything but everything was solved so easily. I just couldn't take it seriously.

Art--
Pretty guys, pretty girls. Sometimes disproportionate body parts?

Character--
No character was developed enough. The main girl, sorry to say this, but she seemed overly stupid, naive, always getting in trouble and getting saved ... by some man. And the most of these guys end up falling for her. I don't understand why? Words like love are taken so lightly and many of the actions of these characters clearly do not prove it.

Enjoyment--
I read it in like 2 days, I don't know why I read it. I guess it was something around a comical read and a guilty pleasure?

Overall--
If you want to see romance with a hot tengu, read Black Bird better. Really. I don't encourage anyone to read this, unless they are really bored.
