Both are magical girl series with sparkly art. CLAMP's art is of course more detailed and refined, but Naoko's has it's own charm. Both series can appeal to an older audience and are classics of their genre. Both feature young girls in middle school who discover that they have magical powers and in both series the girls receive upgrades to their 'armor'. There are some overlaps in character personalities as well.

Clamp began to recieve hype with the publication of Magic Knight Rayearth. Here, you can find the original Mokona! <3 It is a magnificent story where three girls - Hikaru, Umi, and Fuu - are transported into a magical other world that they must save. It is a very nice, short story spanning over three volumes. Highly reccomended!

Pokémon DP Adventure and Magic Knight Rayearth are two adventure comedies that mainly center on a trio of characters that includes one who's short, hopeful, and easily excitable (Hareta/Hikaru) supported by at least one other character who has a solid head on her shoulders and joins the main character (Mitsumi/Umi and Fuu). Their goal is to travel around the world and stop an evil organization from destroying it—a dark plot twist or two are abound.

If you like the mix mecha/romance, so you must try Magic Knight Rayearth too! RahXephon has more reality in the storyline, and on the other hand Rayearth is based in magic and fantasy. Besides the big background differences, they have the same essence.

Both are mahou shoujo manga by CLAMP.

Magic Knight Rayearth and Angelic Layer are not that similar in terms of storyline, but if you want to check who inspired Suzuhara Misaki and her angel Hikaru, reading the first series of Rayearth is a good call. Shidou Hikaru has the same determination and fighting spirit of Misaki/Hikaru. Read both series and compare the development of these two "little" girls with a lot of challenges to win in their lives.

Great magical girl series about making friends and saving the world. MKR leans more toward sentai-style warrior magical girls whereas TMM is more about traditional cutesy magical girls, so the different types provide a nice sense of variety within the same genre.

While the basic storylines are different, the worlds of both series have a similar feel to them. Particularly in the way the kingdom is ruled (the Pillar system of MKR and the position of the Queen in Nishi no Yoki Majo are strikingly similar). Both also feature a plucky female heroine who will do anything to protect those she cares about. If you enjoyed one, I definitely think you would enjoy the other.
