I happened to stumble upon this manga when I was looking for some horror manga to read and it genuinely surprised me with how good it was. Truly a hidden gem that not many people know about.

The story itself is very suspenseful and engaging, it's not every day when a manga makes you read all of it's chapters in one sitting. The small town village atmosphere, the cult-like agenda, the fear for your safety, and the element of cannibalism all thrown together to create this masterpiece of a manga.

Gannibal isn't a manga I thought I would catch myself reading, but here we are.

First of all, its premise is interesting, and unique. It definitely isn't the first horror manga set in a rural area, but its definitely one of the better. Its suspense is strangling, the manga keeps making you second guess yourself. Is this going to happen? Is that person evil? Is that child going to die? There are many questions you're going to keep asking. Some may be resolved, some may not. You'll just keep on second guessing yourself as you're left in suspense

Mixed Feelings
Well this was disappointing.
The premise of Gannibal is, no doubt, attractive. Kinda reminds of those j/corean thriller movies all set in a village where there's a big mystery to solve and, of course, a policeman trying to solve it. Movies like Goksung or Memories of a Murder, good stuff. In this specific case the "twist" is spoiled by the title, but that would be fine as well if it wasn't for almost everything else.
