The story itself is very suspenseful and engaging, it's not every day when a manga makes you read all of it's chapters in one sitting. The small town village atmosphere, the cult-like agenda, the fear for your safety, and the element of cannibalism all thrown together to create this masterpiece of a manga.
The art and scenery is very pleasing to look at. The author put a lot of emphasis on facial expressions and I appreciate the way they drew the "darker" scenes. This gives the manga so much more of a horror feel to it.
As for the main character, he is actually a respectable guy that works as a lone wolf police officer in the village. He's not some gutless coward that runs away and he dives head first into dangerous territory while still being fearful of what awaits him.
Overall this is horror done right, not relying on heavy gore & weird-looking monsters but instead showing the dark side of human nature and how quickly man can become "Beast". I enjoyed this manga and I wish more chapters were available because I'm hooked!
