Overall, a good and interesting manga. Some of the main concepts is what got my attention, like the prison city and the overall post ww2 universe and aesthetic.

The quality of the art surprised me as well, lots of very detailed panels, good fights, and specially the character designs, some of them reminds me of Dorohedoro / Hayashida Q's art. You can see the author clearly put a lot of effort on this.

I think the main problem is that the 20 chapters go so fast and condensed so much information that it feels like a brief summary of a way larger story. There's almost no ... time for character development and the presentation of some of them (like the high priest) felt really rushed. I don't know if this had something to do with the author's health, since it took him 3 years to publish 20 chapters, but to me it really felt like this was going to be a longer story, at least after reading the first couple of chapters.

Nonetheless, a good read, and a good recomendation for anyone looking for an action drama manga with some dark themes that doesn't feel too edgy, and has really great art.

A manga with a lot of potential, having an intriguing world and powerful art. However, it loses its strength throughout history. Let's do it by steps:

The characters in this work are quite simple, as the author does not spend much time delving into their relationships or ideas. However, they are still interesting enough to want to follow them and see the unfolding of their actions.

The story starts very well.
A world with Russian inspiration in its look and climate, this being an oppressive environment for the sake of being a prison monitored by robots and inside it is hell for having several criminals, and in it ... there is a girl in search of her brother who sinks into darkness. to get it. This beginning is very good and encourages you to follow mainly because of the trait that tells the story in a very engaging way.
Unfortunately, this strength is lost because the author stops investing in exploring more of the facets of this environment and focuses on a more common plot to save his brother. Although, it doesn't completely lose its strength in the story, because the author is still very good at making engaging fight scenes that get a lot of excitement.

The protagonist, Chloe, is very interesting to follow.
In order to save her brother, the author takes her on a journey of entering more and more into the darkness of violence, which has such a constant and potent weight on her that it becomes imminent to wait for it to explode.

The manga art is exceptional. The main merit of this work is its strong trait that creates a very unique atmosphere and builds mind-blowing fights.

Finally, Soloist is a manga with a very interesting world and an immersive trait. However, it wastes its atmosphere due to the story it tells, despite its ending being well closed.

I went into this manga completely blind. I just read the synopsis and thought it was interesting. It starts off really strong I think. It has beautiful art with an interesting premise. I did enjoy the manga. Chloe was very cute at all times. But, honestly I got the impression that this manga was meant to be longer by a good amount but it got axed by the publisher. idk if its true or not but thats how it feels. After the second volume, it rapidly progresses and you're like "oh shit theres only 3 chapters left. How are they wrapping this up?" And I ... gotta say the lead-up to the ending is underwhelming as for the final few pages. They're fine. I recommend if you wanna be left longing for more
