Saw the anime adaptation of this series get a lot of negative reviews so i though i'd do a review of the source material the Manga.
Story (8): a man in his 30s who has had no luck with women and is a teacher. He feels his name is the reason for all his suffering. Upon touching a teacup one of the wives of Oda Nobunaga from the Sengoku era has come and her goal is to have a child with the teacher, is his dream of graduating from virginity going to come true there's just one major problem, she's 14. It doesn't
...
stop their as other people connected to the great Nobunaga enter into the picture.
Art (9): The artwork in this series is done very well: there is lovely contrast and the expressions of all the characters are done so well. The flower design on Kichou's yukata is amazing and also the amount of effort put into her hair really shows.
The artist is Konno Azure and he's not new to to realm of ecchi with series such as: Koe de Oshigoto! and Shiritsu Hakanai Gakuen so he's used to doing things with a spin.
Character (8): I will only say the first 2 because anymore would be a spoiler. The main character is as mentioned above a 30 something teacher with no luck with women who one after another gets either women reincarnated from the Sengoku era or the spirits of those women inhabit regular women. He is faced with the temptation of women throwing themselves at him and has to keep his dignity while working on getting them to pass on or go back to where they belong.
Kichou is one of the wives of the great Nobunaga and is brought to present day Japan. At first she thinks they are playing tricks on her but as time goes by and she sees what has happened to her land and the people she cared about she admits the truth. Now will she chose to stay with this new Nobunaga or does she want to return to the Sengoku times and marry the Nobunaga her father wanted.
Enjoyment (8) I first got into the series after the start of the anime adaptation. While i enjoyed the fan service elements the length of the episodes always had a feeling of something missing and that is the drive of the story. The Manga has roughly 50% more material than the episodes and it really goes into what the main character, the love interests and the side characters like his family are thinking. I will give 2 good examples of improvements from the early chapters: 1 it really dives into why he's had no luck with the women and with the flashback i feel sorry for the man. In the anime the primarily reason why he can't be with Kichou because of her age and while that's still a major factor in the manga because of the law there is the added issue of if he were to have children with her would it remove himself and his entire family from existence because it's believe she could be they're ancestor.
Overall (8) Yeah its an ecchi series with some shameless fanservice but it's also fun and has a decent story to tell, the characters are all well drawn and you can tell a lot of care has been put into each chapter.
p.s. this was my 1st review hope it turned out ok.
