The premise and the first half of the story really might turn off a lot of people and believe me it did the same to me as well. But there's actually a reason for this behavior. The boy was experiencing everything his father did in his childhood which is making his memories mess up with his father's thus the distasteful crush love started. The second half of the story however completely made a 180° jump and we were given Ninomae as the form of a medicine which would later cure our Male lead from his weird complex. The story is worth reading and very ... enjoyable. The art work is especially one should enjoy reading. The love story which started rather slowly in the second half was unique, different, somewhat realistic and very wholesome. I repeat don't stop reading and continue. You will understand why he is doing this and how big of a character growth he will get in the last few chapters.

From the creator of Mysterious Girlfriend you know your getting yourself into weirder obscure human nature of things, and it just continues here. Ookumo-chan Flashback is a story of coming into adolescence. Minorou our protagonist, experiences the memories of his late father when he was in love with his mother. Although oddly enough, those same feeling start transcending into his world with his mother. It's peculiar in that weird way, almost crossing the borderline of taboo, but it never reaches that point.

His mother is a manga artist throwing many hints to Mysterious Girlfriend X, another series from the ... author, it's nice to see subtle hints. His crush is so similar to his mother that she's in the manga club trying to become a manga artist herself. A bit of attachment theory, in which we try to find someone to marry that show the similar behaviors and appearances of our parents. So that's nice to see play out.

It's a charming manga that shows the growth into adolescence with many unique feelings one might experience. Overall it's a very wholesome experience that doesn't go overboard with some themes and the art is just a visual heart-warming.

super disappointing, thinking i could read something new and innovative, it ended up being just another ordinary romance manga with a totally predictable twist. the author hooks you with the mother son relationship for about 20 chapters and then ends with "just kidding" he will fall in love with his classmate who is a copy of the mother. I know that incest is taboo but we are reading a work of FICTION, if it is going to be like the rest, why bother?

Do not expect an explanation of the flashbacks of the protagonist or that there is no development of all the characters, personally I ... do not think it is a negative aspect but there are many people who are bothered by the lack of explanation. If incest bothers you or you want to read a vanilla romance, go ahead there is no danger
