I love this manga. The story is great, and characters have depth and everyone looks cute. The art is amazing, and the anime animated the odd colorful style perfectly. By adapting it this way, the animation is minimalist, but it's a great show. In the beginning, it seemed like a normal shoujo girl x ghost, but then more characters were introduced and Hanako was given a lot more depth as a character. The whole aura of the story is great too. what seemed like a normal comedy romance shoujo actually had it's dark moments, with twisted characters, and later in the manga there are even ...

SUCH A GOOD STORY. This manga is the first manga in A LONG TIME that I cried for the characters. Hanako is such a likeable character, as you can clearly see his character development (as well as yashiro!) Everytime I read this, I cant help but think that Hanako is just like a cat!

THE ART is BEAUTIFUL. Its absolutely breathtaking. Im not a big fan of cutesy anime's usually, or anime that seems like shoujo ai, but I just could not help but love Hanako's and Yashiro's compatibility. This is not an anime that has fan service or your pervy boring anime jokes, it's ...

This manga is truly amazing. I first watched the anime that came out in 2020, it was pretty good but it did feel like some pieces were missing from the ending. That's why I decided to read the manga. Turns out they didn't put a major arc in the anime which would potentially make the anime way better. So I am kinda mad at the anime, but I fell in love with the manga. The character development happens little by little every chapter, and you get to see all of it when the manga decides to pour all the emotions into another beautiful chapter. It ...

This manga is amazing!!! I recommend reading the manga before watching the anime that just came out!!

The art is so unique and beautiful, and the author does a great job at creating great loveable characters. It is really enjoyable since you get a lot of flashbacks with new characters and you get to know them really well. The main characters are also really cute and funny.

I also really enjoyed the authors way of introducing new characters, they really feel like your friends. Pay attention to some really cool characters and their backstories in the manga.

I definitely 1000% recommend to anyone who wants to ...

Toilet Bound Hanako-kun, just the type of slice-of-life young teens need right now.

While the franchise has been going on for quite some time now, gaining an anime adaption, I'm going to be to be solely reviewing the manga.

TBHK is a nearly perfect blend of light hearted comedy and well written plot, even delving into dark topics while still feeling refreshing and enjoyable--it's that freshness that I believe makes it a manga quickly rising in popularity among the teenage audience.

STORY: 9

Sure, it's not the most well written and ground breaking story out there. But it really juggles so many things at once without ...

Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun is a manga that is beloved by a bunch of my friends in real life and online, so when I heard it was getting an anime in 2020, I let my curiosity get the better of me by reading it before seeing the adaptation itself.

Excuse me if the review is poorly written compared to my other ones, I just wrote this on the fly without preparing well like the others (since I wanted to avoid spoiling much detail to the story). These are just brief thoughts.

Story/Writing (2/10)

It is a very uninteresting story that felt shoddy in terms of consistency. There were a few ...

Story 2/10

Pretty generic. If you've read other supernatural manga then you've read this one already. It paints itself as being dark and gloomy but in the end it's as lighthearted and DBZ.

Art 10/10

Holy f this manga is on the level of ther masterpieces like Oyasumi Punpun. While it does not delve into realism, it's typical manga style is seasoned with a style that is more stylized.

I fail to see why it matters that he's the 'hanako of the toilet'. Most of the scene don't even have anything to do with the toilet. He could be the Bethoven of the music room or Ninomiya Kinjiro statue for F sake it still do not affect the story whatsoever. His weapon of choice don't even related to toilet. Just imagine a boy in bethoven clothing wielding a knive fighting evil spirit, the story do not change much even if you change hanako with bethoven. Even when his past is revealed, there's really no strong connection of him being hanako. Considering he want to ...
