The art in this manga is amazing, the characters are unique but the story is where it starts to get interesting if you want to read a story of a complicated relationship between a mother and her child then this one's for you. Overall i enjoyed reading it can be quite interesting and funny and pretty tense all together. I've read 74 of the current chapters of manga. To be honest i'm actually a bit dissapointed overall. Now i enjoy thriller like manga/anime but this is a bit different. Now i don't want to write much about the plot because there is synopsis, but if you like dark, psychological and a bit of a slow story this just might be for you. This is possibly one of the most disturbing things I've ever read. That's the whole point, and it is not for the faint of heart, but I enjoyed majority of my time with this manga.
However, there was a sequence around chapter 80 that stopped my enjoyment, and everything just kind of fell apart with the story and it didn't feel consistent anymore. Like I feel like the author was dragging certain plot points out for the hell of it and it all could have been executed so much better and condensed down I think. Before i started to read this manga i was kinda sceptical, because i prefer more ecchi manga and cute girls. But honestly since i read 2 first chapters i couldn't get my eyes off from it. The storyline together with masterpiece art (even not exactly what i prefer) was (still is, because manga is still releasing) breath-taking. I just finished Chi no Widachi and if I was a much more emotional person I would’ve been crying right now, however the story is still super messed up in the best way possible. I always liked Oshimi Shuuzou’s stories and this is definetly one of his staple works! The story is really good at feeling “lively” like most of the events could realistically happen, and the illustrations are really good at giving the story a very uneasy vibe. Amazingly portrayed manipulation, great visuals, great characters. One of the best horrors i’ve ever read, probably the most terrifying manga, as there was no unnecessarily unrealistic murder scenes, the story was believable, lifelike, that's what made it so scary. It was a massive rollercoaster of emotions, at no point of the story could i fully predict what would happen next.
The ending was awesome, very fitting but it did leave me a bit unsatisfied. If u enjoy psychological mangas, i assure u A Trail Of Blood will be in your top 3 as soon as u read it. Good luck guys

I don't wanna me a long review but get to the points straight.
It is not the best horror manga you will see, but it has something I have never seen before, the author resembles a topic that often is not good touched in a good made psychological horror story. Seiichi not ony has PTSD (we see many signs and symptoms of this all around the story in a pretty acurrate way, symptoms of intrusion, hyperarousal, avoidance and also depression are earsily recognized). Chi no Wadachi, or Blood on the Tracks, is a story that's honestly left me perplexed. When it came out, it was a solid 8/10 manga which I read regularly given how intriguing each chapter ended up being. However, over time I feel the story lost meaning and the pacing was not good enough especially considering the stellar start it had. Story: 4.5/10 While the initial premise, and execution of the first 50-60 chapters was excellent, I felt the mangaka couldn't keep up the same consistency with the story-telling which made me eventually lose interest from chapter 100 or so. This is a hard story to read to the end, whenever this review is read after the manga is completed or not, it's trully challenging. If you're looking for a kind of story that features heavy themes of phycological horror and suspense then this would be a good read. I would say that this story portrays the aspects of emotionally / mentally abusive relationships well. Especially from the point of view of a younger person, like the main character, who might not fully understand. Combined with the feeling of being trapped. Making it the realist kind of horror out there that many can relate to.

A short review for now, but somehow, I managed to read 83 chapters in 2 hours. The chapters are quite short, but the story itself is very serious. The art style is very pleasing to look at. I believe most of the colored pages are watercolor, so perhaps the whole manga was scanned/made traditionally.
About the plot... It's insane. A mentally unstable mother. A mentally unstable son. A mentally unstable girlfriend. Mommy is a compulsive liar. Her baby boy got some sort of disorder. This is the single most unsettling manga I've ever read. All 75 chapters had me tense and bristling with raw anxiety. The characters are realistic but alien, the plot is a nightmare realized, and the art works wonders at imparting a feeling of subtle dread, and the impression that something is always just a bit off.
