Stories about societies. Tokyo Ghoul and Beastars both tackle subjects in a really raw manner. Social "outcasts" having to fight primal urges and having to adapt to a new lifestyle very suddenly. They take place in very divided worlds, one group having to mask their necessities to blend in with the crowd. I guess you could see a lot of the plot points of each respectful manga trough a metaphorical lens, kinda mirroring our own world in a way. Anyway, they both have a dark and mature way of storytelling and I would recommend these two to anyone wanting to be taken trough a heavy  read more

A seinen work done by a female mangaka, with a sketch-like drawing style, with an unconventional story telling, in a unique world. Oh, and it’s totally awesome. Sounds very much like Dorohedoro and Beastars to me. The only big difference is that one work will turn your sexual orientation towards devils, and the other towards furries.

Both have animals that have human trait but still have their animal instincts and attending a normal school life and maybe falling in love with a different species then their own.

This is a great story with very interesting characters. The characters get lots of details and development. The world is unique and the main character is one of my favorites. The plot mostly revolves around carnivores and herbivores coexisting in a world with human like animals. The herbivores fear and look down at the carnivores. The carnivores have to fight their instincts and coexist. It may sound weird, but it is a extremely well written manga. The concept may sound weird but just give it a try.

MCs portrayed as "dangerous Delinquents" when in reality they're attempting to better themselves because they''ve been lacking social relations throughout their lives. Beastars initally becomes heavy in romance, then shifts into several different genres such as mystery, action, discrimination etc. It especially explores a complex world-builidng where carnivore and herbivore deal with each other and there's many elements that have never been done in anime/manga. Fragrant Flower doesn't involve literal sluts and heavy topics, while it does progress with your typical anime tropes, it's still a charming character-driven romance that also goes in depths of other adorable characters. The melodramatic moments honestly makes this a laid-back  read more

Two animals with a humanlike mind, surrounded by other animals that can speak and converse their thoughts like humans, being judged unfairly by most other animals because of their appearance. <> Beastars's plot goes further than Hedgehog Harry.

If you like manga about furry racism Monotone Blue is very similar to Beastars in that regard. Both follow the story of a protagonist who has been able to take advantage of his situation to leave an easier life when his world view is interrupted. Likewise both main characters struggle with fitting into their places in society which make for a wonderful coming-of-age story.

This anime is similar to Shingeki no Kyojin in a different way. That way would be storytelling. Beastars is an amazing story for a manga. It's written by a female mangaka, but the masterpiece it is, I can't quite put my finger on it. Is it the realistic representation of racism? I don't have a clue myself. It's quite a read, then you'll understand how good it is. And no, it is not a furry anime.

both series' are supposed to be a commentary on society. Beastars uses animals to communicate discrimination by using things like herbivores and carnivores. Pluto uses robots and humans to do this and utilises stuff like mechanical and biological things. Both showcase discrimnation and unjust in society. Both are a reimagining of the current world but they both substitute it with other things but essentially the problems in beastars and pluto are evident in the real world too!

Seemingly unrelated manga, Both Steel Ball and Beastars have more in common than thought. Along with having colorful characters with multi faceted personalities, both address how to fit into society and how to address your sense self. The settings will be different, but nuanced plot and strongly motivated villains will keep you reading

Inter-species relationship at a school populated with studens with animal characteristics.

Society of anthropomorhpic animals with conflict between the species as a focus point. Just in Basculer the roles of rabbits and wolves are reversed.

Both of these are basically human daily life drama told through anthropomorphic animals, just that in Great Catsby it's strictly cats, while Beastars has more species.

Relationships in a world of humanoids with animal characteristics, but with a story not just for a furry fandom.

It's kind of a stretch to compare these two, but Beastars does have a similar easygoing story with just enough subtle abnormalities and quirks that when you start noticing them you're too much into the world and story to be able to object to them. Both are also works with a very non-targeted appeal. If you don't count furries in the case of Beastars, there's no clear focus group neither of them are appealing to, which makes them go under the radar for many who doesn't have the patience that's needed to get a work like this. That's a shame though because the warm and  read more

Similar interesting kind of supernaturalist world, with interactions that can be enjoyed for their surface-level meaning or a deeper one

The whole divide in Beastars - carnivores vs. herbivores is similar to the Devils Line - Devils vs. Humans. The drama is similar, trying to understand the line between the two communities and trying to find harmony or peace in one sense or another.
