Gal Gohan is a pretty cute romance/comedy manga between a gyaru(a pure gyaru, not a slut) and her teacher.

The premise is really simple, the teacher and the gyaru are alone in this cooking club, and the gyaru is in love with the teacher so she keep teasing him and that's basically it so far. Yes it's pretty basic but the main girl is so cute each chapter just put a smile on your face.

The art is pretty nice, our main girl design is perfect, she's a cute gyaru, not too slutty, just perfect.

That's basically it, if you're looking for a simple cute manga you should ... read this.

"Gal Gohan" looked like, on the surface, a gyaru who liked to eat and cook. After reading the entire story, front to back, I can safely say this is one of the best manga I've ever read. The best way to describe this manga is a slow burn of romance between a pure gyaru and her Home Economics teacher who is a bit awkward, yet endearing in his presentation. When I say slow burn, I mean SLOW BURN. The teacher (Yabecchi) never takes advantage of his student (Miku), and even questions if she's a real gyaru because she's not throwing herself on him like a ... typical gyaru would.

Miku needs to graduate, and in order to do so, the principal proposed her to make cookies for her teachers as an apology. Coincidentally (thank you mangaka), the cooking club is looking for members--under the leadership of Yabecchi, of course. They don't stop at sweets though, the two cook simple Japanese meals too. Miku teases Yabecchi a lot, but her flirtation fits her very well. The art is very well done, the mangaka makes Miku look like a typical gyaru and Yabecchi as the plain, seemingly boring teacher.

I highly recommend this manga to anyone who's never read gyaru stories before. It's very pure for what it is, and the art will keep you there--you may even learn how to make some food while you're there!

As it is lately becoming very famous to use the genre "cuisine" in the industry of animes and manga, the creator of this work followed the same course and added a novel cliché and gyarus in that work.

Now you ask yourself: If this is why should I read it?
First of all we can see that even though I try these 3 recurring themes of the current Japanese industry, she can maintain her originality both in her script and in her arts.

Script: Its simple, a young woman who is looking for a group at her school and ends up going to a cooking ... school and in time she starts to get interested in her teacher.

Development: The development of the relationship between teacher and principal is full of funny passages, subtle phrases of novels, discovery of new feelings like love, jealousy and possessiveness, shrewd ecchi pitches (a slight pinch, no NSFW), situations counter humorously funny, excellent use of humor and comedy and we can see clearly the change of personality and vision of each one. It is also the introduction of coherent and always funny introductions of new Characters throughout history.

Art: I was amazed at how beautiful and artful, unique traits differ from anyone I have ever seen, a comic art Q, sensual when it comes to girls, but beautiful and defined when it is for men, eyes and hands always overlap in each frame (which by the way I think very cute), a lot of creativity to create a gyaru style acceptable to the public, but maintaining its originality and sensuality, the anatomy of each character is well defined and does not escape the standard acceptable and does not create rejection to the eyes.

I particularly have a certain admiration for the art of this work.
In short, it's a very funny romantic comedy, it has its ecchi and gastronomic side that in certain situations are forgotten because of the novels or the comic scenes, it has a simplistic, but captivating script.
If you are looking for a work to read, relax, enjoy a romance and a light ecchi, this is a good request.

Personal opinion: I think it's a very good manga for you to read, but since it comes out month by month and no, you better let it accumulate enough chapters and then read it all at once.

I really enjoyed Gal Gohan. Like I really did. This is my first review ever, so bear with me

Gal Gohan is just a romcom in all honesty, but something about it made me love it. It was something I read at like 1:00 AM, cause it just set the mood honestly lol. But for real, I thought that everything about it was just a 10/10 experience to read. It was funny, cute, and nice.

The story’s pretty simple it’s just a girl who falls in love with a teacher and doesn’t really seem like all that honestly. And to a lot of people this is a ... 7-8 or maybe a 9, but I just absolutely love reading/watching anime’s like this because they just take me away from life and I can actually smile at something for once in a while and really experience true happiness.

I loved the art style too. I loved both Miku and Fujiwara‘s art style, they were just super cute all the time and I liked the close ups cause they’re faces were pretty cute to dawg.

I liked all the characters, not really any of them getting me on my nerves or anything. My favorite character has to be either Miku or her father, Mr.Okazaki, especially the scene where they’re at dinner (minor spoiler ig? not really a spoiler but whatever ) and he and Yabe are just JoJo staring each other but turns out he’s just a super sweet florist who plays golf. I wish I got to see what Fujiwara did after school, but it’s completely fine. ( lowkey but midkey she kinda felt like a Ami from Toradora!, like lowkey felt like she didn’t get that attention buttt not really )

My enjoyment is off the roof to be honest. I really smiled at this and laughed at some parts, and I really fuckin enjoyed this manga man. So much that i’m writing my first review. I’m pretty sure this is like a vanilla romance right? I want so many more of these pure cute romances. They’re so much dopamine for me mannn.

11/10 yo fr. I really recommend you read it. Gives you smiles, the endings great, I literally don’t see any flaws in any character, and genuinely think this can’t get lower than a 8 rating. I really hope you enjoy this as much as I did.

I don't read manga. Not really. Certainly not manga that's still being serialized. It's just not my style. I hate waiting and I generally want to just coast and enjoy the arc of the story in it's entirety. Yet, here I am, writing about a manga that's still being serialized. With the above context in mind, I think I can more clearly communicate to you, dear reader, how much I love Gal Gohan. Let's break it down shall we?

Story: The story's probably the one part where things fall somewhat flat. Schoolgirl in love with her teacher really should be listed as a trope if it ... isn't by now, especially for Japanese media. Yet, Gal Gohan puts quite the shine on an old story, and it's hard to not support and enjoy the lead heroine's (Miku) earnest feelings... while being a bit of a goober about how she expresses them. When the second heroine was introduced I was worried the story would go off formula a bit and that it would lose the luster I'd been enjoying so much, but in the end the course is true, even with more characters sharing that course.

Short version: The jokes are funny, the emotions heartfelt and endearing. Perfect for a romcom with impact.

Art: Honestly just got look at the art. The girls are all uniquely designed, and even the male lead, Mr. Yabe manages to not look like a stock male lead for anime and manga. The panels flow nicely, the environments are detailed and engaging, and action, is illustrated quite fluidly.

...plus there's plenty of panty shots and various "ecchi" material... which is quite nice to look at. Miku's a stunner and the art illustrates that very well.

Character: Making archetypes into interesting characters takes a deft hand with the pen. Trust me, I'm an author myself. Taking archetypes, and a somewhat tropetastic story, then making something engaging and spirited out of it, well that's even more special, and I'd say where Gal Gohan really puts rubber to the road is with it's characters. Miku's an engaging and, despite her attempts to act otherwise, intelligent female lead, and her goober moments, driven by her pure and sweet heart, whether she's managed a slapstick klutz move or she's realized she's expressed her feelings a bit too directly are great. Then again, I enjoy a girl who clearly knows how to use her looks to her advantage shifting to pure maiden mode without a clutch.

Fujiwara is a character that very easily could have stayed as stock standard issue, but develops rather nicely into more than the sum of her tropes. (Much more than this is spoiler territory so I'll leave it here)

Yabe too does an excellent job, not just of being a good teacher, but showing exactly why Miku's into him. He's reliable, kind, the right kind of intense... and he can cook. (irl dating tip from a married guy, learn to cook gentlemen. Miku digs a man who knows his way around a kitchen, and so do most women. Plus eating good food is it's own reward.) He's a decent guy, and he's earned Miku's affections in a very believable way that does deepen and go further than a simple school girl crush.

Enjoyment: I think that's pretty obvious by now considering I'm writing a freaking essay on a romcom about a pure gyaru trying to earn her Mrs. degree immediately after graduating high school.

I'm a sucker for cute, romantic stories, and I feel that Gal Gohan hits the spot with that criteria while adding a bit more on top of it.

The Manga describes a Gyaru (gal) by the name of Miku Okazaki who's practically the worst student in the school and is given the task of making cookies for the teachers in order to allow her to graduate. However, she ends up staying in a cooking club that a home economic's teacher, Mr. Yabe, makes.

The story doesn't a specific direction that it goes in, (maybe aside from but each chapter does (most of the time) introduce a new ... dish they make in their club and also shows their adventures for that section.

The art is phenomenal, the characters look great; the main & other girls are cute, MC looks handsome. Massive props to the artist.

If you're looking for something lighthearted, funny, cute, with romance, comedy, set in a school, and/or includes cooking, Gal Gohan is definitely something to check out.

When I saw the high praise this manga was getting on here I scoffed. How could this generic, morally questionable and just blatant wish-fulfilment manga about a gyaru schoolgirl and her home economics teacher harbour such value among esteemed peers? Reading through it though, I laughed, I cried, I fruitlessly questioned the age-old quandary of what it really means to be a "gyaru". This is not just a gyaru-adjacent harem romcom, this is a densely multifarious genre-defining piece of transcendental art. The author is a master of realising expectations, each adorable costume swap, each inadvertently lewd misunderstanding, each moment of heartfelt sincerity shared between the ... cast is like a soft, tender kiss from a nubile angel planted upon my boyish cheek. There's a heavenly dichotomy played between the demure and delicate student council president and the sincere, yet amorous gyaru lead that one cannot help but harken back to the romantic Grecian tales of old about Leto or Artemis. For such a faceted, multi-layered narrative I can say nothing of ill, if for some reason humanity were to only exist through one piece of art it would surely be this.

Like bro I was reading this manga and like I heard something outside. Like I went to see what was happening and like you wouldn't believe what I saw. Like there was a guy letting out the trash and I was like how about I tell him to like add Gal Gohan there as well? Like I went to him and like after I showed the cover of the manga and like he put it in there without thinking twice. Like was a nice fellow.

Gal Gohan has made me sad. Not because it was intended to but because I cried twice at how cringy the ... whole thing really was. I've gotten to a point that stories like these get a big NOPE from the get-go. The Gal Gohan case is the same. There is a guy, there's a girl and they end up together in some way. The romance is non-existent yet they fall in love and bada boom bada bing, marriage. What you don't know though is that the love part is just an unconscious subplot. The two characters around the end be like "Hey, we've been together doing stuff for quite some time and you know, I feel like I love you" - "What are the odds, my feelings correlate too" - the manga. How does this happen you ask? That's pretty simple - it's called the art of blushes. It's something one of the two does that's related to and/or is cutesy & delightful & darling so the other will somehow blush and slowly fall in love, unconsciously. It's 100% efficient and knows no bound.

I maybe shouldn't be looking too much deep into this since it was never meant to be that way but goddammit if I didn't enjoy reading this nor has anything appreciable to begin with. It's about cooking and by cooking stuff you get a hot girl to your side. Naturally!

The characters, unfortunately, don't grow on me since they not only have an average design and they are easily recognizable in other works such as Miku that is Saki's reincarnation from Henshin. They have the exact facial structure, the exact body shape, and both the characters have darker skin, but their personality is nothing short of bad. It's the same though. You know, they just don't change and if they happen to accomplish that task it doesn't flow naturally. It goes from point A to point C without passing to point B first. In doing so it creates a different space-continuum that ashes everything into the 45th dimension that is the place where average characters reside.

The art didn't impress me. It's detailed, I'll give you that much but it's like every other drawing-style we have seen before. It doesn't rise into becoming more captivating and unique that would separate itself from the rest moreover it remains in the generic field.

Overall this manga isn't good. I didn't appreciate the story - the characters were just there doing stuff but I never cared about them. I'm not a big fan of cooking-related things so that was a big NOPE from the start but I kinda ignored that and gave it a try, as one must. In the end, it ended the way it was written - suffering in pain. Don't make the same mistake I did and skip this abomination.

This manga guys….was literally friggin adorable because I really liked how it was such a slow burn for me to get to know the characters more than just relying on the romance first. Basically to give you guys a idea of what the manga is about, it tells of a schoolgirl Miku who is failing most of her exams and the principal tells her “make cookies for the teachers” as a sort of punishment. There she meets Yaabe, an airhead who is pretty much an “average Joe soap” guy and is a home economics teacher. She instantly falls in love with him but he’s doesn’t ... let her do “it” straight away. He is no doubt doing the right thing by waiting for her until she is grown up and out of school!

As a non harem fan, this manga is considered one of the decent ones I’ve read in a long time. I feel the other girls Fujiwara (student council president) and Nagisa (chemistry teacher) who had the “hots” for Yaabe, were actually mature enough to not create typical “cat fight” arguments against each other or pressure Yaabe to fall for them when he obviously isn’t (wish it would happen in every harem manga tbh -_-)

It’s really a lovely story to read although be warned for those who want to read this manga, there are a lot of “ecchi” scenes in this involving Miku and two of her “gal” friends, including the fact that they are teens so avoid if it’s not your thing. I personally wasn’t bothered because the character development was so good in this. However again, keep that notion in mind if you are deciding to read this.

One of the arguably OG Gal mangas has ended, woe is me.

If you were looking to read a Gal manga but were kinda disappointed that most of them were still being serialized and haven't ended yet then look no further. Gal Gohan is a pretty nice all around ride about a Gyaru named Okazaki finding her place in a cooking club with her teacher Yabe. It's pretty simple and cute concept as far as romance comedy goes and makes for a pretty easy/pleasant reading experience if you end up invested into the dynamic between Okazaki and Yabe. There's a few outliers and criticisms I have ... like the ending feeling kinda rushed and the odd beauty contest chapter but in the end, I don't really feel like it detracted much at all from the experience of reading the manga. You pretty much get exactly what you're looking for when you read this manga (although it kinda gets progressively hornier as it goes on but maybe that was what you're looking for anyway). This was a satisfying read since this is the first time in awhile I've had a romance ending not make me audibly say "why" in a long time. Check this out if you need something to pass the time while you're quarantined away.

Gal Gohan comes off as your generic teacher x student romance comedy manga with a small twist, the main female interest being a gyaru. This review might be slightly biased due to the fact that I haven't read much romcom manga or watched much romcom anime as well but damn was Gal Gohan a wonderful read.

Story: The first 3/4 of the story revolves around her high school life, spending time with the teacher, Yabe in club activities and whatnot, as well as their experiences meeting the different characters such as Fujiwara and Ms.Shirahama. The last quarter involves several time-skips which may come off as ... confusing at first starting from a couple months after Miku's graduation to probably around 10 years into the future. Not to mention, Gal Gohan has its fair share of cliché depressing moments but it's still executed very well nonetheless.
Overall, the story is very solid, 8/10.

Art: The art is well drawn throughout the entirety of the manga, including multiple nicely drawn full page shots as well as fanservice chapter covers for us cultured folks. The art does actually drop in quality in a few scenes but I presume it was used to enhance the comedic effect of those scenes.
Overall, strong, appealing art, 8/10

Characters: There are essentially only 3 characters that are important to the story; Fujiwara, Miku, and Yabe. These 3 characters are exactly as you'd expect from a stereotypical teacher x student romance comedy, the rival, the main character, and the love interest of both of them. During the early chapters, none of the characters seem all that special and don't receive that much development either. But once Fujiwara's arc begins, get ready for a roller coaster ride of emotions. Miku and Fujiwara go from generic, mediocre characters to being very well developed, showing significant mental (and physical ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)) growth during this arc. I can’t dive into details without revealing too many spoilers so I’ll just stop for now.
Overall, the characters received significant character development, and were made into very fine-tuned, somewhat believable characters. 9/10

Enjoyment: Similar to what I said in my explanation of the characters, Gal Gohan takes a generic romance comedy trope and executes it very well while still retaining a good portion of its trope’s stereotypes. While the art and story were very solid throughout the entire story, the combination between these two and the characters just created a perfect mixture of fun, lighthearted gyaru romance comedy manga. I’m not a big fan of the romance-comedy genre and I often get bored after reading a couple chapters but Gal Gohan managed to maintain my interest for its 4 years of serialization.
Overall, reading Gal Gohan was a very wonderful and enjoyable experience. 9/10

In Conclusion, Gal Gohan is a fun romance comedy manga that managed to interest me, someone who has little to no interest in the genre to continue to read it for an entire 4 years as it was getting serialized. Gal Gohan takes interesting concepts such as cooking and incorporates it into the manga, even using it as a major plot point during a certain arcs of the manga. As always, if you enjoy gyaru manga, this is a must read that cannot be skipped. All in all, I think Gal Gohan is a great manga to start off with if you want to dive into the romance comedy genre, and it was a very entertaining experience these past years reading it. I apologize if this review is written quite poorly as it’s my first time writing any sort of information/serious review.

The Gals always have been present in this community, usually as side characters relegated to be a villain role. In the last years starts a change, now are the heroines of the romantic stories, one of the best trend of recent times. One of these new popular stories is Gal Gohan, from the author Marii Tayou.

With the synopsis is enough to get an idea about what is the story, the most unexpected will be the other side characters in search of generate that uncertainty certainty about which will be the girlfriend of the protagonist. Although just the 2 main characters are the only ones which ... we really remember, the side ones neither are just unidimensional or boring ones. Are the enough involved characterized to carry one the weight of some situation which are involved.

Expect typical scene after typical scene, hot situations with a twist even hotter or a sweet one, if you are not uncomfortable this type of situations you are going to enjoy it. Thankfully these “fanservice” moments don’t limit or lock up to the characters, they are planned of such way tan go out from the character, aren’t imposed (at least not the vast of the time). Making it avoid the common wear of these type of structures.

There isn’t a global thematic, just individual thematic set for each character, the uncertainty of the future, confrontation of the feelings or exhibit the strong inherent of the youth are some, typical of these stories. Can be say than are good executed, at least the necessary to make it believe ones, however, apart from the decision respect to the what will do the main girl, little shine the other ones narratives. Just idealizations no deepening.

If there is a serious issue is the development, during three ¾ we have titty bouncing’s and panties glimpses (and that’s fine). But in the moment of be serious, the story develops too fast, well can be qualified of a put of previous elements than were settling the ground, except that this hasn’t been totally like that, have existed insinuations and could be, not fact clear and solid. The previous entails to the trend of the main character don’t reach the strong that could be make it.

The draw is really good, the high character design reflect on the main character Miku, very cute girl with the right sizes in the right places, than the author Marri exploits with class in each cover page and suggesting draw (how many screenshots I have taken). The panel composition is simple, effective for the purposes of the work, praises for the backgrounds in several chapters. And the deep impact than can reach in the draws of full pages.

A work hot and funny that dazzle to the fans of these arquetipes. The romantic side never reach the that could have been, but results the enought atractive and entertained to keep it afloat. A delicous lunch of one of your favorite foods.

Las Gals siempre han estado presentes en esta comunidad, usualmente secundarias relegadas a ser un papel de villana. Fue en los últimos años cuando comenzó a ocurrir un cambio, ahora son las heroínas de historias románicas, una de las mejores tendencias de los últimos tiempos. Uno de estos estandartes es Gal Gohan, de la autora Marii Tayou.

Con la sinopsis basta para hacerse a la idea de sobre qué va está historia, lo más inesperado serán las otras secundarias en búsqueda de generar esa incertidumbre certidumbre sobre cuál terminará siendo la novia del protagonista. Pese a que solamente los 2 protagónicos son los únicos que auténticamente recordaremos, los secundarios tampoco son únicamente planos o aburridos, están lo suficientemente caracterizados para poder llevar el peso de alguna situación donde resulten involucrados.

Puedes esperar escena típica tras escena típica, situaciones candentes con un giro más candente o dulce, si no te incomoda este tipo de situaciones lo vas a disfrutar. Afortunadamente estos momentos “fanservice” no limitan ni encierran a los personajes, están generados de tal manera que salen de los personajes, no le son impuestos (al menos no la mayoría del tiempo). Logrando evitar el común desgaste de este tipo de estructuras.

No hay una temática global, sólo corrientes individuales adaptas a cada personaje, la incertidumbre del futuro, enfrentamiento de los sentimientos o exhibir la fuerza inherente a la juventud son unos cuántos, típicos de estas historias. Se puede decir que son correctamente ejecutados, al menos lo necesario para darlos por creíbles, sin embargo, aparte de la decisión respecto al que hará nuestra protagónica, poco relucen las demás narrativas. Son idealizaciones no profundizaciones.

Si hay alguna grave contra es el desarrollo, durante ¾ tenemos los rebotes de pechos y vistazos de bragas (y eso está bien). Pero en el momento de ir en serio la historia se desarrolla demasiado rápido, bien podría calificarse de una puesta de elementos previos que fueron asentando el terreno, excepto que esto no ha sido totalmente así, ha existido insinuaciones y “podría ser”, no hechos claros y firmes. Lo anterior conlleva a que el hilo de nuestro protagonista no alcance con la fuerza que podría haber logrado.

El dibujo es muy bueno, el alto diseño de personajes se refleja en la protagonista Miku, muy guapa muchacha con los tamaños correctos en lugares que correctos, que la dibujante Marii explota con soltura en cada portada y dibujo sugerente (cuántos pantallazos no habré tomado). La composición de paneles es simple, efectiva para los propósitos de la obra, alabanzas para los fondos en según qué capítulos. Y el impacto que puede lograr en las páginas de dibujo completo.

Es una obra divertida y candente que encandilara a los aficionados de estos arquetipos. Su apartado romántico nunca alcanza lo que podría haber logrado, más resulta lo suficientemente atractivo y entretenido como para mantenerla a flote. Un rico almuerzo de una de tus comidas preferidas.

I really liked it. I love a good romance manga I'm always reading those and I think this one is great. I feel like the story is unique I personally hasn't seen a relationship like this. I think the art is great and I personally loved the art style. If you like romance manga and stuff I think you would like to read this. it's only 68 chapters with about 20 pages per chapter so it's a little short read. It was a little predictable but I didn't expect some stuff and with romance it's usually really predictable and so that's good. Shinji was really ... dense and that was really his only flaw but that really made the drag out.

A heart-warming story that left me smiling at the end. It is touching and wholesome, but filled with humour and excitement. The dialogue in this manga is outstanding, and very well written. I was immersed in the story and always eager to see what would happen next. The protagonist is funny and cute, she always has something to say. She loves to pull pranks on her favourite teacher. He doesn’t know how to feel about her or the things she does, he just wants to be a good teacher that tries his best. This manga is all about how a girl in love feels and ... what she does in order to get through to the guy she likes. He is much older than her and he is her teacher, as the story unfolds that conundrum comes to the forefront.

I am once again writing a review for a love comedy manga, (feeling like romcom is a drug to me) but as i have stated before i am trying to have a unbiased approach to this review, but the manga starts out with this gyaru who is failing almost anything in school (except looking good) and her teacher tells her to atleast do something and she decides on trying the new cooking club with the new teacher that joined th school, and she ends up joined that club and the adventure starts. great romcom just feels a bit rushed at the end where we ofcourse ... get to see the "finish line" for the gyaru but it all happened in such a short time and the ending felt a bit weird since they tried to make it like how i met your mother storytelling but that just made the story "worse" according to me (up for your own opinions), but otherwise in general the story was great, the characters didnt have a lot of depth to them, the art was rather good and i like it a lot, overall i like the manga and it was fun reading it during the lunch break at school and a score of 6-7 is what i reckon its worth...

So, today I just finished reading all chapter of Gal Gohan. So, basically, this

manga is about a pure Gyaru ( not Slut) named Miku Okazaki that enter cooking

Club under her home economic teacher that named Shinji Yabe and others

Characters. I like the others characters that shown in this manga too. Yabe is

... first teacher that not looks Okazaki as a problem student and encourage her in this cooking club.

In this manga, Okazaki loves to tease her teacher every chapters. I hope

have another romcom comedy like this. The ending in this manga is quite satisfied. U guys should read this. That all from me

Wow, the moment I discovered that the two main characters had a 10 year old age gap, I thought it would be absolutely impossible for a happy ending, but I just have to say thank you author for making the ending possible. There are good things as well as bad things in this manga.

It’s one of those mangas that you read at night and a laugh at how wholesome it is. But sometimes it gets way too cringe and there are a lot and I mean a lot of unnecessary fan service.

In Japan, the legal age of consent is 16, so ... there are absolutely no problems with the story, but some people out there may find this uncomfortable, and if you’re one of these people, I don’t recommend this manga to you. But hey, if you’re just like me who doesn’t give a shit at all, you’re looking at the right manga. If you’re just looking for something to give you that sense of feeling than this manga is more than suitable.

Before I end this review, I would just like to say that in the last few chapters, the author was rushing like crazy. I don’t blame her though because if I was in her shoes, I would not know how to end this story. Props to her for being able to find a suitable and wholesome ending.🙂🙂‼️
