She made a big mistake on the first day. To get the attention of the boy she fell in love with at first sight, she lies about going out with her brother, the story of this dynamite sibling's school life.
Hanmai told a lie on the first day of her new school to get notice by her crush, Lee Gun. But now everyone thinks that she is dating Junhyuk, her step-brother. This story revolves around the step-siblings & their life in this new school as their past slowly reveal itself to the readers (I'm still reading very curious about how & what happen to two of them).
The story line was actually pretty interesting, & as you read more chapters it starts to get serious for each character.
Hanmai (Step-sister) is has a caring personality when it comes to the people she develops
a relationship with, & will try to solve the situation by herself as told by the brother.
Junhyuk (Step-brother) will be that guy with a weird happy personality but everyone just can't help but befriends him.
These two step-siblings often mess around with each other, but they'll try to not be involve in each other's problems, letting the siblings find a solution for himself/herself.
Lee Gun (Crush) is an adorable dork with a naive demeanor that usually compares to a puppy.
There are other characters but the story is mostly about these three.
Expressions are well drawn. There is hardly any extra finger, weird positions drawn or knees too bent (In fact, I haven't seen one yet). Plus of it all... It's colored.
Enjoyment: The beginning hooked me on & there was a lot of comedy between these three characters. Then suddenly it became serious & the story left you begging for updates.
I really am just on my computer everyday hoping for an update. I'm at the most recent update: chapter 107, & my goodness it was intense. I'm very curious about a lot of thing. I laughed & I shout out my lungs. I rarely write reviews, but since this manhwa doesn't seem to have one I'll put in my opinion hoping that it'll become a popular manhwa to viewers that it should & deserves.
Thank you for listening to my thoughts & Happy Reading!
Due to an unpleasant accident, the two cousin-but-live-together-like-siblings Hanmi and Junhyuk had to transfer to another high school right at the beginning of 2nd term. They childishly agreed to keep their relationship a secret and started a completely new life.
Then, Hanmi fell for a puppy face but weird guy named Lee Gun. He had no friends at school but always topped the tests. Hanmi couldn't find a better way to make Gun remember her face and name, so she ran to her secret brother Jun Hyuk and begged him to fake a relationship with her to trigger Gun.
Unfortunately, everything didn't go according to her plan.
And since the siblings are so so popular at school, their fake relationship became the topic of every gossip and rumor.
In the long run, Hanmi approached Gun. However, a handsome guy named Yeong Hwa got in the way. He is a psycho and willing to to everything to get Hanmi back to him, including destroying all the people she loves. Seong Hwa forced the choice on Hanmi. Will she choose Gun, Seong Hwa or her secret brother Jun Hyuk?
Overall, I like everything about this stories. Nice art, addictive plot, impressive character buildings and funny scenes at the same times. But there's one thing I don't like is that the story develops way too long, therefore it's too easy to forget some important details.
Hanmi and Junhyuk are siblings (but secretly cousins!) that transfer to a new school. But when Hanmi falls in love at first sight with Lee Gun, and lies about dating Junhyuk, her cousin, to make Gun notice her. However, Hanmi has an uncomfortable past she'd rather not bring back...
I started reading this manhwa/webtoon a long time ago. I just loved everything about this series. The storyline is intriguing and I enjoy reading it every chapter.
At first, the art seems to still be developing and there are some weirdly placed positions sometimes, but as you go on, Willow takes a smooth turn. She makes the lines
clear, the coloring is improvised, the expressions and the anatomy are much better (sometimes I find Hanmi's shoulders way too broad) and her artstyle is refreshing.
Hanmi, basically can beat anyone up, and doesn't give a damn which is hilarious.
Junhyuk, Hanmi's brother(cousin) is also pretty awesome and like to eat fried chicken.
Gun, adorable angel too pure for this world (but can pack a few punches)
Jua, Gun's little brother who's in a hospital bed 24/7
Seonghwa, (I'll leave that guy up to you)
Since it is currently on season 5 of the manhwa, a lot of the characters have developed and new relationships have been made as well as breaking them. There are some characters who you can tell have really changed throughout the whole series. I find it very admirable.
The enjoyment of this manhwa was very... enjoyable.
Watching the characters trying to solve the issue without being awkward is something that's pretty arousing and fun to read. There are some chapters where it ended with Hanmi being like "Yo." and I would just be screaming. In my opinion, this is a great manhwa to catch up to and help you procrastinate. Something about the story just draws you in, naturally.
Overall, I really love the series. Good plot, well-designed characters, hilarious scenes and impressive art. I'm practically waiting for the next update each time. Honestly, if I had more people to talk to, I would recommend them this. Although sometimes the characters are a bit too dense/gullible, I still thoroughly enjoyed the manhwa and would reread it as much to my liking.
But that's just my opinion, isn't it?
Thank you for reading my review, and I hope you'll read 'My Secret Brother'!
