Synopsis

Empress of the Eastern Nation Navier Ellie Trovi stands at the pinnacle of noblewomen with dignity and grace. Although she and her husband, Emperor Sovieshu, are not as intimate as other couples, their trust in each other has been built over years of friendship. But then, wanting something more, he brings in a concubine—a former slave named Rashta—and that is when everything begins to fall apart.

Months later, the fateful day arrives; Sovieshu declares his intentions to divorce Navier and give her throne to Rashta. However, against all expectations, Navier is not backed against a wall, and she declares her intention to marry another man—Heinrey—whose noble appearance shocks all in the room.

Just who is Heinrey, and how did Navier come to this new marriage arrangement? The Eastern Nation stands at a precipice, being torn apart by conspiracies, lies, and—above all—love.

The Remarried Empress is an adaptation of Alphatart's Jaehon Hwanghu web novel series. It is originally a webtoon series which has been officially published in book format by Young Com (영컴) since September 23, 2020.

The series has been published digitally in English by LINE Webtoon since September 6, 2020. The volumes have been published by Yen Press under the Ize Press imprint since November 22, 2022.

Why are the reviews for this so bad? The story starts from an affair but it progresses well. Its true to the novel.

The empress stands tall and firm making rational decisions compared to her cheating husband (yes cheating since he brought in a concubine without his empress' permission so therefore, an affair. It should be a mutual agreement on both parties since she is his spouse).

She eventually meets Heinrey who actually genuinely sees her for who she is, a strong woman whose smart, beautiful, rational, a good ruler, and would make a good loyal lover (compared to her trash husband)

Story:
I just can't put my finger on what the author wants. This whole story is just so frustrating that I'm wondering whether it'll be the start of a theme for masochists exclusively. In the pro-prologue you see the protagonist striving but then you get like around 90 ch of her suffering??? The author can't write anything else besides that for 90 chapters. And it's not even a dark psychological story! It's bright, bright but depressing. It doesn't make sense. (edit: I can't possibly consider this angst since there's nothing to choose between. There's only aimless suffering).

And the reasons for the protagonist's suffering are so weak ...

no, don't get me wrong for putting a 4 in this manhwa - it's good, but.. there's a lot of 'but'. to be fair, there's a lot of loop in this story.. like you feel so suffocating that it always the same feeling from before because this bitj rashta and that bastard sovieshu is so annoying, like to the point I would always put my middle finger up when you see this character, like their topic of debate is super duper bullshit, they always put the blame on our female lead yoo - and from chapter one till around ch 80 - you will just ...
