ace of diamond was so close to being on mine. eyeshield was good and one of my first sports anime. I loved one outs too.think sports anime genre might be pound for pound champ.

the only 1 that should be in everyone's top 5 is haikyuu. blue lock probably only made mine becos of recent biased.ashito joe dont know why started and stopped on episode 6. never went back and was getting into it. might be time

@Avamarie316 I also wasn’t a manga person but once you get into it it’s amazing and you start to prefer it over anime sometimes!

Re-main is underrated imo. It’s also maybe because I haven’t seen those that are talked about often like Slam dunk, Ace of diamond etc but yeah, sports anime in general are nice to watch

Blue Lock wouldn't even be in my Top 10 if I'm honest. Would choose Ao Ashi over it anytime.

Anyways, my Top 5 would be something like this:
1- Haikyuu!!
2- Medalist
3- Baby Steps
4- Ping Pong the Animation
5- Ballroom e Youkoso

Still need to watch more shows tho.

Ah, that one, basically its horse racing, but the horses (or uma) are anime girls. The reason i like it is because it has almost a 1 to 1 backstory for the umas featured to their real life counterpart, (ex. like tokai teio with her leg fracture). The best part about it is the animation, especially the spin offs like road to the top ova, Cinderella gray or beginning of a new era movie. Despite being a literal horse girl anime, it also doesnt have much fan service(altho they kinda increase it by a ton on the game version). If i have to rate it overall, it would be a 9.2/10

I suggest you give ashita no joe one more shot. Its one of those that start really slow, but once it hits, it hit harder than a truck.Genuinely the best written sports anime I've seen, would rate it 9.9/10 myself

sk8 is amazing but a perfect soundtrack like mf. but i struggle to see it as a sports anime its the tournament fighting and baki type of sport. is megalobox sports or grey area cos it has robot and mecha type stuff?

@Avamarie316 I'd say it's not a traditional sports anime. But it has skating and competitions. Also a lot of the same tropes as other sports shows like a weak player getting better. Someone who is basically the best at the sport and so on. I consider it a sport show. Megalobox I'd also say is a sports show. It's based around a sport. I think if the sport is the main part of the show it's a sports show.

@Avamarie316 I'm a big fan of the underdog. Or the normal character becoming a challenger. There's a lot of hard work that I like to see as well. I love these shows because none of the characters really have anything special. Or they have things that work against them. Which golf anime?

Haikyuu is my fav sports anime so far. I am planning to watch Ao ashi, joe, kuroko's basketball, ippo and Ik these gonna be banger. But no matter what or how many sports anime I watch blue lock always gonna be at the rock bottom. Idk how people even like blue lock. Too edgy for me

Maybe one to watch is ao ashi if you like football, both the anime and manga are very good and should hopefully make non football fan appreciate more the tika-taka positioning aspect of the game

Heard good things about tsurune and uma musume aswell

But if you want to scratch that competitive-national itch a good music anime will definitely give it that

Also don’t get the fc 26 question if you mind on elaborating more

u are almost right. its not a series about football its just using footbal as medium tbh. its more of a story of bunch of players trying to become the best players by their own way. its not trying to be realistic either

watched and loved it fav football anime but no right making my top 5 with limited episodes. love you seem feel how qell that ahoqiw written. cant wait for season 2.

think its calling raising impact or raising something will check after for correct name. it started really well but kinda tried to add too many things. the author is obsessed with medieval stories think he done deadly sins. names feel out of play in the 2000s setting.

I'd rate the Blue lock manga very high but not the anime, It has its moments but once you read the manga, You realize just how much of the rawness and amazing artwork is lost in translation to the anime.
