Vroko: My invisible spell is invincible.
How could he have never heard or noticed that Luna was crying out loud the entire time, and Alicia could locate him for this reason? Or did he think that his spell was also soundproofing?

Ah, colossal ancient creature of unfathomable size, the looks alone inspires madness. Alicia made a sound decision to retreat from this one. I can't even imagine how many hero will it take to bring down such creature.

Alicia got the sword. Nelluru's fully healed so now she looks different, looks normal. The piece of shits got what they deserve. Very satisfying episode. Ancient one looked like an ultra beast. It's like guzzlord but with the tentacles of nihilego.

I love how great the production handles this.
From the muddy water, to magical smoke, to plain excessive chroma noise, until suddenly everything on screen becomes brighter and clearer, Neruru gets brought back from the brink of death, and eventually Alicia gets reanimated.
The way suddenly the whole frame lighting increases and noise becomes less excessive really helps bring about the sensation at the end of the episode.

Vroko for all his scheming couldn't predict that his invisibility would be useless without the stealth to go along with it. He totally wasted that spell lol.

Alicia obtained a hero's sword and Nelluru has joined the party! Hurrah!

Absolutely no reason in-universe to make Nell have a basic 'hot girl' look after being healed...

I'm gonna short this anime and say it's going downhill from here.

Making story decisions based on appealing to the audience has never and will never result in greatness - the audience don't know what they want and you won't ever give them something unique by appealling to things they're nostalgic for/familiar with.

Pretty satisfying episode. Alicia got the sworld from the deep lake, and they revive Neru.. but I still curious how exactly is the dark ichor work? even when it left her body, she will still come back from the dead?

Comfortably anime of the season. What an episode man. Best since the premiere. So glad Nelluru got a happy ending after all the pain and suffering she’s been through. She and Alicia taught Clevatess a LOT about what makes humanity so special over these last two episodes. While the bandits represent everything wrong with humans, Alicia and Nelluru represent everything we’re capable of.

For starters, that animation of Alicia retrieving the lost regalia from the ocean and evading the ancient one was awesome. They went so hard with her swimming scenes. In any other fantasy anime they’d have had Alicia somehow fight and beat the ancient one. This author went for a much more realistic approach by having her realize she was outmatched and had no chance of winning, getting the sword and dipping. Work smarter, not harder. Great idea to have the bandits taken out by the ancient one. The absolute audacity of them to ask Alicia to save them after all they’d done 😂 this ain’t that type of anime buddy

Vroko’s death was so satisfying because he died as he lived, an arrogant fool. Whenever you hear someone address themselves as “ore-SAMA” you know they’re a pretentious POS who needs to die. I can’t fathom being stupid enough to use invisibility AFTER you hit a baby in the head to make them start crying and think you’re getting away lmao. That had to be the dumbest move I’ve seen.

Alicia saying she didn’t care about dying as long as Klen could heal Nelluru definitely moved him and made him like her even more. She might be “useless” with magic, but Alicia is teaching him what it means to be human every day. So nice that Nell got healed with all her teeth and face in tact the way she should’ve been looking if not for years of abuse at the hands of the bandits. The resurrection sound of bones creaking in this show is so haunting tho lol.

Now that we got our wet nurse, can’t wait to see where the group goes next

@JorryRoger Dude, she was already normal looking when she was younger. The abuse she endured from bandits, both in the past and present, has affected her appearance. She still resembles her ugly appearance , just without the impact of the abuse. Based on her body proportions, she was already seen as a 'hot girl.' I think you're being overly critical or looking for reasons to dislike this show.

@Bio That doesn't matter as long as it makes sense within the story of why she is. Clevatess healed her using bandit parts and maybe the troll judging by the small white hair she has. The healing process mended all past trauma, including physical injuries, disfigurements, scars, etc... It makes sense within the story you just don't like it, making it a you problem not a story problem.

@GrimLegend I'm being overly critical because the show hinted at having an unattractive character join the main gang (which would be controversial and interesting) but then decided to play the safe option - no one forced them to make the group's baby bottle be abused and unattractive, and if they'd played it safe from the beginning I wouldn't be here describing how disappointed I am. I'm not 'looking for reasons' here, I'm pointing out that this show is going to end up generic and boring because the author's just showed they're scared of doing anything controversial or interesting even if they try to hint otherwise.

There are real people that are fat and unattractive (with respect to 'hot or not' rules of thumb), the pre-heal version of her is no less 'normal' than the post-heal version.

The author being scared of having an unattractive group member suggests that this show doesn't have anything unique or transformative to say - especially since they've gone from 1 unattractive named good guy to 0 unattractive good guys. They managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory by looking like they were going to avoiding a trope, but then turned around and doubled down on tropes (good guy? Must be attractive. Girl? Must be hot. Hot girl? Must be energetic and have zero trauma unless it's a moment where we need the audience to feel sad for her)

@GrimLegend I really don't agree. Clevatess' black ichor is all sorts of magic bullshit. It could have made her a porcupine and the issue still wouldn't be the plausibility of Clevatass being able to do it. Clevatass could also decide raising a baby is hard and wipe out all humanity to end the show at episode 1. Would that be a good story just because it could happen? The point is why the author is writing it this way, since it's definitely not a required development. It suggests they're more interested in some fanservice than having weight to the cruelties of the setting, which is not a great sign. It also plays into the awkward trend isekai popularized of recruiting slaves as harem members. And yes, it can still be marketing a harem fantasy without the male lead having any interest in it. It's fine you don't care, but stop trying to deflect a complaint into something personal. If there's a reason you think this development is positive argue on those grounds.

@JorryRoger We're going to have agree to disagree. You where looking for things that weren't there then got disappointed even though it made sense within the story for it to happen the way it did. Her transformation serves a narrative purpose rather than a commentary on beauty standards. Nell’s initial appearance reflects the physical toll of her abuse and environment, not a judgment on "unattractive" people. You argued that Nell’s pre-healed form was "normal" and her transformation erases representation, but keeping her "unattractive" could inadvertently reinforce stereotypes that equate physical unattractiveness with trauma or moral goodness.

Clevatess tackles sensitive topics head-on, including slavery, sexual assault, and human cruelty, without glamorizing them. Nell’s arc, including her brutal death and revival, is part of a broader narrative that critiques the depravity of Edthea’s world. Her transformation doesn’t erase the story’s willingness to engage with dark themes; rather, it sets up further exploration of how characters like Nell and Alicia navigate a world where even "good guys" are shaped by violence and trauma. Overall Nell is still a great character with a lot of potential for growth, it's not like she won't have trauma from what happened to her.

@Bio We going to have to agree to disagree as your arguments are nitpicky at best or don't hold water. Nell’s transformation in Clevatess isn’t fanservice or an isekai harem trope. It serves the story’s redemption theme, with Clevatess healing her for utility as Luna’s caretaker, not romance. Her past abuse keeps the setting’s cruelty intact, and her role avoids sexualization, focusing on agency. This choice deepens the narrative, not cheapens it. This development allows Nell to contribute meaningfully without being defined solely by her trauma, making the story compelling without resorting to nihilistic extremes like wiping out humanity.

Alicia is so badass, it really feels like she began her hero's journey the day she died.
Vroko was such a greedy dumbass, imagine failing your stealth check with advantage because you because you couldn't help fucking gloating SMH
Working for Cleavatess has great health benefits, you even get free dental.

edit: also just to be clear, unlike Alicia, Nell is not a revenant. She was barely clinging to life when Cleavatess healed her and she is alive and fully human. Alicia on the other hand was dead and starting to decay when Cleavatess decided to resurrect her. She can't live without the dark ichor which Cleavatess temporarily removed to heal Nell with.

@GrimLegend "navigate a world where even "good guys" are shaped by violence and trauma" - tell me you see the irony of saying this whilst arguing it's ok to transform the hardy girl who has survived trauma into a basic hot girl? Old Nell is clearly someone shaped by trauma, Hot Nell could be literally any anime girl.

My dislike isn't for Nell post-heal, it's for the author refusing to let someone in the main group be made unattractive by their trauma. This would be like Avatar the Last Airbender having Zuko lose his face scar when he joins the GaAng and then pretending that this choice has no impact on the vibes of the story.

If you need good guys to be attractive to join the party then you're telling a story for kids, you're not actually telling a mature story where trauma forever alters good people - and that's okay! Some stories are light-hearted and wholesome things where unattractiveness can be healed away (e.g. this one), whilst others are about really messed up things happening, altering people forever and trauma being something you live with for the rest of your days (e.g. Beserk). What's not ok is trying to wear the skin of story type 2 while being story type 1

No surprises here. I'm just glad Nell or Nelluru made it out of that living hell. Clen didn't necessarily do it out of kindness for her(for Alicia and they need her for Luna), but it's nonetheless crazy that a literally Demon King treats her with more humanity than that trash she was with did.

One Piece episode 914 & 915 & 1027 were a mistake and 957 brought the salvation - FMmatron

@Bio I'm having the same argument with this person in another comment chain and I don't think they see this development as something worthy of commentary - it feels like talking to someone who sees this development as no different to having a hero blink because the sun is out: it's not good or bad, it has no impact on the narrative direction and you shouldn't look into it any deeper than the surface level of 'events have happened in the story'.

We're having a discussion about stories/tropes and they don't seem interested in doing that at all - which is fine, but just strikes me as odd because they've chosen to engage with our comments when they could've just ignored us

Lol… so what exactly made her lose weight? Why does she have no waist anymore? If Clevatess used body parts from a fridge shaped overweight bandit and a literal troll, why is she now an hourglass figure? This does not make sense for the story and is extremely corny. I’m sad cause I was really enjoying this.

Good thing that swords glows, or she never would have found it down there.

Big beast ate something that violently disagreed with him.

Alicia to pleading bandits: 'Bandits!? I don't need no stinking bandits!'

Encountering limitations and obstacles will have a rather salutary effect on Klen's growth in understanding mortals.

I wonder what is going to happen to Carme, the camp madam.

What an absolutely spectacular episode, this anime is easily one of the best this season.

Alicia... what a woman. She's a true heroine. She gave her all to reach for that sword, pushing through even though she could barely breathe and taking on an ancient beast without hesitation. Then she willingly sacrificed herself to save Ner. Though technically no longer human, Alicia's heroic spirit remains unwavering. Her unwavering will and selflessness deserve the utmost respect. She has earned her title, not just as a heroine, but as a heroine of humanity. Thanks to her, Luna is safe and Clevatess will postpone annihilating the human race for the time being.

As for Ner, I'm so glad she was revived. Seeing her with the face she should have had if she hadn't been mistreated, with no swelling and all her teeth... it feels like a new beginning. Now she is no longer Ner, she is Neruru, starting a new chapter away from the trauma she suffered.

Alicia finally got her regalia and she strong asl. She's quite skilled.

She tryna aura farm so bad lol. Ngl, some of Klen's character pissed me off this ep, but it's in his character, so I won't fret over it.

That leader really thought he was getting away with his nasty bs of using Luna. Great to see Alicia ain't fking around.

Nice to see Nell again, (Nelluru) and she's surprisingly younger.

Definitely wonder where the gang will go next, considering the entire bandit group should be dead.

10/10
