| Aria the animation, entire series. It boasts being one of the best iyashikei with huge female cast and definitely caters to my taste. So I thought maybe this could be my favorite too back then. It's very highly regarded as the best sol and I saw it nested on many people's favorite list. And yet I'm so bored to tears, keep watching and ended up disliking the show. It's deformed faces are ugly, the dialogues or the one liners are terrible, and when they attempt on drama especially origination, it felt so forced. Thinking by the end of origination, I thought I would like it but it turns to be one of the most tedious watch I have ever had in anime. The second one would probably be Ojomajo Doremi. It's first half is wonderful and I actually like the trio. But it's second half has so many issues that it brought down the show for me especially the forced drama about one of the unlikable new girl in town. They definitely tried to redeem her character but the way it resolved just sucks. I heard that the later season is great and also thre are many that has it in the favorite list too. And again I only watch the first season. Maybe I would try to continue it's next season in the future if I have enough motivation to push through The third one would be Ranma1/2. I love most of Rumiko Takashi's works and I think the old anime is just a terrible adaptation. So much so that I don't have any interest in checking its manga. Littered with unfunny and terribly written fillers and more Happosai just ruin the show for me. The new remake while decent, it's just too short as typical modern cour adaptation. Maybe I can rekindle the interest once the new season aired. |

Granted, I don't dislike Onpu, but I didn't find her as likeable as the other girls and it was the part of the series that came along with her that dragged it down for me by an entire rating. I was really enjoying the series just as is with the focus on themselves and their classmates, so the introduction of the other witch stuff did not measure up and dampened my enjoyment (also, Oyajide doesn't need to exist in the series at all). However, I've heard the first season isn't the best season and that the series gets way better with the introduction of some following plot elements, but have yet to see if that's true myself. If the first season had kept being as strong as it was, I would've jumped onto the second season right away, but there's no rush for me to check it out at the moment and I'll get around to it when I get around to it. It might even be a while. |
