i’m curious if anyone has thoughts on how mahoro’s relationship with her brother is going to pan out throughout the rest of the series. i know that most people are assuming she just really looks up to him and loves him in a completely normal sisterly manner, but i wouldn’t be surprised if they went down the jjk route with full on incest.

obviously there’s no manga so nobody can really know where this is gonna go… i dunno i’m hoping they don’t go down the wrong path here but we’ll see

I don't understand how you think anyone would interpret it as innocent sisterly love lol they're both very obviously incestuous freaks. It's not really a JJK thing it's a very common anime trope.

Maybe I'm mistaken, but I think it's one-sided? I haven't seen anything that would suggest the brother is also into Mahoro aside from ED, but that might be a joke. They are both freaks, though, for sure.

Honestly, who gives af about things like these in Anime anymore? Things like these only happen in Anime and I don't take it seriously at all. Don't give it much thought and just ignore it. Ik it can be hard to ignore and if it really is, just drop the show.

I definitely think she has a brother complex sorry… I don’t think Marito is gonna end up admiring or appreciating her in the same way at all, and I wouldn’t be suprised if the series has a figjt between them

@Calypso_mk eh i wouldn't say i'm concerned, more confused. i genuinely didn't know which way the relationship would turn but it seems pretty obvious now

and obviously incest irl is a heated topic but i know that in anime it's just like a meme and that's pretty much how i see it too lol

It'll be a running joke for the entire series. I could see Matakara getting the blue spirit and losing control, striking Mahoro and beating Marito, before being stopped by Arajin and Senya. Maybe Mahoro is more in love with him for trying to defend her honor, and she nurses him back to health, but nothing on the level of Mei Mei and Ui Ui

@ScrewFiction The original manga and anime really still remain the carrier of one of the most mature views on this topic. But unfortunately, a number of VAs from this show perceive their participation in it as very uncomfortable.
