It's okay that it's a fanservice episode, but I wish they would have extended the other important scenes instead of this episode or made it 13 episodes, delta vs john, alpha vs john could have been extended a bit and the gettan fight could have been handled like in the manga, but it's okay that it's fanservice because all seven shadows are my wives anyway

Who cares, all I know is those two kids I can’t even remember the names of are so insufferable to me, that was the worst and most insulting part of the episode. As is the case whenever they ever have screen time.

even for an anime only , it's so easy to name them lol. Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, Epsilon, Zeta, Eta. Literally the greek numbers. For us Manga/LN readers this episode was a treat. Zeta and Eta didn't even appear until Vol 5 and 6 of LN but in anime they showed them earlier in lots of scenes here and there.

I was actually curious about what would Cid do in a fanservice episode. This is Cid and his "The Shadow" we are talking about.

In previous episodes. Cid might have destroyed everything Alpha and the others built for real if the situation is different. After everything was destroyed, He planned to gave them an another chance to restart, but that's far from making up for them. He might have some guilt after the things he has done as "John Smith". So not showing up in this episode sort of make sense.

But really what would Cid want in this episode if he appeared? Was he going to do some more training in a broad daylight with swimsuits everywhere? Is it in his character?

You're being overly dramatic and beach (or pool) episodes are quite standard, not some kind of super rare occurrence
