| Whenever I hear someone say they want immortality all I can think of is Czeslaw from Baccano and Rin from Mnemosyne and how horrible it is for them. Like imagine dealing with fatal injuries but you can still feel all the pain. Or if like Utsutsu from Pupa that pain medicine doesn't work on you as well. |

| I like to think I'd react to immortality the same way Isaac and Miria did, personally. Taking away circumstances where I'd be in permanent excruciating pain, if at any point in time you asked me, "would you prefer to die, or would you prefer to live?," I imagine my answer would always be that I prefer to live. Doesn't mean I spend my days agonizing over it, but the preference is obviously there. Hence I'd say immortality under certain circumstances would be great. |
| It sounds terrible when you actually think about it. Because for one, you'll be stuck watching your loved ones die and you'll probably end up alone. And unless there's a clause that you don't age, you'll have to deal with the health and orthopedic problems of being old with no way out. Like...people are stuck with cane's and walker's by 70, imagine how bad your mobility will be by 170. |

| Nah, it's the best one. Unless you suffer from depression, you'll always figure out something to spend time on. At least that's how I feel. If you're good at dealing with loss in general, it'll be easier to cope with things that happen over the course of your life. I'd personally enjoy the gift of immortality given my body remains healthy and fit. |
| With Baccano reference of Czesław you've pointed the ones who might have complained but you have forgotten about the other two characters the couple who have gained it somehow [forgot how they received it] and they haven't even realised that they lived through over 2 hundred years. It is hard to say how hard it is, or easy it is all what you have in mind, if you know how to deal with it than it is a blessing, if you can't deal with life while being mortal than why on earth would you even consider to being immortal at first place? @Cei_Von_Velsia Wait what? If you're speaking about science mind giving an article or literature at first place from where you've received such information? Cause so far I haven't heard about it. And after seeing what is left after people from archaeological point of view I would disagree with it, cause you even need a specific ground factors, humidity factors, air factors and many more for bones to be not perished, not gonna even say about muscles for which it is very unlikely to be not perished, the only example which I can think of such thing surviving till nowadays is the nomad princess in Altai Republick [back than] from Pazyryk culture, where the mummy was completely frozen [best conditions for surviving the ageing process of body] which gave us the very nice tattoos reconstructions. [been twice but not for a long period of times] with obesity, cause in one google search it says 1 in 10 people are overweight while in the other site saying that 47% of the population. [Checked and gonna correct myself 10% is for obesity, 35% fo overweight **, while 50% for normal and the rest for under, - just tired from little exercises and university duties so my reading skills are at level 0 rn] Well good for you. Remember that gym doesn't make anyone better than others, aswell as it doesn't make anyone worse than others. |

| Nothing can be eternal: human societies can all be dumbed down to an endless cycle of union and division; The greatest, richest, most successful human in the world shares the same fate as an obese pedophile, that is, being reduced to a sack of bones. These two persons are equally as shitty because death equalizes all. But the concept of Immortality is the only absolute that exists, it is the only thing that goes against that law, the only thing that goes against the impartial river of time. I don't know of any super power more meaningful than immortality. From our standpoint, immortality would be unbearable in the long term (mostly emotionally), sure, but what if you had a thousand years' worth of life experiences? Would your goals, ambitions, and understandings of life be the same as now? Would you still be bound by the same values and worldly desires? No, I think anyone with enough life experiences would eventually realize, that immortality is the only goal worth pursuing, that the pursuit of immortality is the only life worth living. My view is somewhat limited to the earth: I don't take into consideration the end of the universe and galactic stuff like that either because I am too narrow-minded or because I realize I lack the ability to even attempt to form a conjecture on what immortality would entail at that scale. Objectivity is a myth; everything is relative. |
