| Not against the idea of seeing BL romances in anime in the same vain as GL titles. But to a good degree, many titles of the genre I've sampled aren't too good quality-wise as a decent amount get too focused on showing off who are the "top" and "bottom" characters of the relationship instead of doing anything to flesh them out and make them more than just being dominant or submissive types. |

In manga, they often started to look more human in late 2000s to recent bl manga. Some of the typical bishounen look cute (and at least some are really well-written, mostly thinking of Mo Dao Zu Shi), but it hits different to me, when anime characters look more like actual people. Natsu no Takenawa has more of a plot too though it's about a guy struggling with his own identity so I guess not pure BL. I have tons of h-manga recommendations lol that would fit but yeah don't know if that is what you are looking for. I feel like if an anime was made that was as beautiful as Adachi to Shimamura, but with males instead I would definitely watch it. But that's not what yaoi is... oh no The way the characters look, they always resemble businessmen no matter their age, the pointy chins, the vapid personalities and lack of emotion- no let's just get down to BUSINESS (the zecks), and they're all bishounen cardboard cutouts.. it's like made BY men FOR women.
