Bones is a very consistent studio in terms of animations. For them to suddenly switch over to a berserk-like quality CGI mindset is VERY VERY unlikely let alone making this next adaption completely cg which I wouldn't mind either way.

So are you taking about the Mob Psycho 100: Reige. I know that S2 ended on chapter 92 of the manga out of 101 chapters. Then Reige gave us another 7 chapters.

So is there actual another arc in the last 9 chapters before Reige ? ..... its really hard to see what they are adapting for me as i have not read manga. Or is it the flow of the story from Mob original manga to Reige is the same for the most part ?

dude. there's three more arcs (two of them major) and four volumes left in the MP100 manga before we even get to the reigen spinoff story.

the reigen volume is decent and heartwarming, but not enough to make this reader cry / want to learn japanese and start studying in earnest / any of the other things that happened after they finished MP100.

four volumes is a lot, and that's not including all the great omake that haven't been adapted yet. the last arc takes up a full volume; that one volume (vol 16) is longer than any other volume in the series.

for reference: the previous two seasons took up about six volumes each. you won't be disappointed (i hope).

People who say that Season 2 was the perfect ending have never read the manga. One of the best endings for an anime/manga of all time.

They better not leave a single scene or line of dialogue out or rush the pacing of key moments this season. That was the one thing that ruined season 2 for me (along with all the blood, gun and stabbing censorship), especially Mogami's world which was arguably the most emotionally-charged point in all of MP100 and got reduced to like 5 minutes that don't even get close to showing the hell Mob went through and that makes the following fight feel so earned. Whereas the manga shows it in all its raw, violent, and heartbreaking glory.

i know this is old AF, so apologies.

but they left that shit out precisely because it was so fucking harrowing, disturbing and brutal. BONES was making a show for children's TV, not adapting berserk -- the brutality wasn't a major focus of the story. also ONE worked really closely with the studio: they took a lot of his suggestions on how to adapt his work; toning the mogami arc down may have been one of them. (i'm actually really really fucking glad they adapted ONE's art for the series despite his worries.)

anyway, there's enough blood, brutality and darkness left in to give it a TV-14 rating in the US. what they left out would have pushed the show into R-rated territory.

teru's attempt to provoke mob into a fight (and mob's bloody ???% flashback? whoo) was a HOLY MOTHER OF CHRIST THIS IS DARK moment for me. and the fight between koyama and mob in season 1 ep 8? that has got to be one of the sickest and most heartwrenching fights i've ever seen in animation. ever. it made me rethink shonen fighting series in general: why don't we question the idea of kids and adults fighting to the death? is it 'right' to be entertained by this? (i was, and my gods, was it emotionally effective visual storytelling. but OMG did it make me think long and hard)

one of the things i love about the anime is how good it is at storytelling by implication. mogami ends up stripping mob of his powers, stepping on his face, crushing him to dust underfoot and basically mentally raping him. that in itself is harsh enough to get the point across before we even get into the contents of that mind rape. i do think mob's time in that world could have been given maybe another minute of screen time, however? the extended depictions of mob's torture work really well on the page, but more than that would definitely have belabored the point on screen. (spoiler: i have a film background.)

They are not short chapters or arcs, some chapters have almost 200 pages if i remember correctly. Bones doesnt need to adapt Reigen spin off as "fodder" dont worry
