It'll get better. There's been hardly any moments for amazing OST in the first 4 episodes. What should they do? Use Youseebiggirl for Gabi and Falco eating Pizza?

I'm not sure what you really expect. Hyped up, epic soundtracks wouldn't exactly fit the post-war depression we've seen for the past 4 episodes. When the action starts, you'll get what you want.

But the thing is how many new soundtracks do you think we have heard until now . I think the answer to that is very few so we really can’t judge yet and the funniest shit is when people say this new ost is bad when that same ost was from previous seasons like they just want to nitpick .
I till now like the melancholy soundtrack that played when the warriors came back so I’m not worried about the ost in the future.

Yeah I guess I am wrong,there hasn't been anything that major to use such soundtracks.Was just commenting on the direction of the music,thats all.And I know we'll get epic shit later

I agree completely, although I would also criticize the fact the you compare them with the hype moments from previous seasons since on a narrative standpoint, the story so far is not aiming for hype but rather down to earth characterization. So while your statement is just straight up fact, using a hype scale to compare is kinda unfair, don't you think?

yeah its unfair, I am the one at fault here.But still I felt a little unsatisfied in the Reiner backstory ep,in terms of music department

bring back Sawano? maybe the OST is so poor too that we cannot entirely blame it on the sound director alone since the sound director for the final season is a legend so the music composer is the problem i think

omine something...
he did well on other parts like the direction & to me the osts are pretty good tho...so it's not entirely a failure, but yeah there are more stills in this ep and last minute pacing for eren transformation feel a lil bit rushed, if only they could cut out op/ed lol

Kohta Yamamoto is just not as good as Hiroyuki Sawano. It's the cold, hard truth.

I was expecting a new epic OST for the Eren transformation scene like how YouSeeBigGirl was for Reiner and Bertoto. Why can't our main protagonist get a OST dedicated to him in his epic moment as well?

I definetly agree. I'm not talking about the op and the ending because I am in love with both of them especially the ending.
I think the OST placements in this season has been a little off I don't know why but some OST's just didn't fit the scenes they were put in.
Do I think it's a big deal yet ? No. We'll have to see how they manage the "epic" scenes , until then I'm not complaining

People said the same about S3 until more notable tracks came out (legit remember one of the big reviews on S3 Part 1 complaining about it). As people have pointed out most of the big tracks people love in AOT are the huge epic scores and there haven't been many opportunities to use it. Personally I have liked what we have got so far in the soundtrack department in terms of the more subtle music. Some of the new tracks from last episode sounded really good.

Also people talking about Sawano ignoring at least to my knowledge we don't actually have track list on what they have been involved in.

Knowing how Sawano works with sequel, you should not expect that much, also, he already said in an interview for S3 OST that he is “burned out” with AoT. So should not expect more than re arrangements and maybe 1-2 new tracks from Sawano and the rest would be done by KOHTA.
