I just read up to wano and then watched the anime and I had a stroke. Does the pacing get any better?

I'm genuinely surprised that it took you so long to realize the pacing was bad.

It doesn't. They are trying to fit 1 chapter into 3 episodes or so and you can see the insane amount of fillers be put in those episodes. It's so bad that to no one's surprise, everyone has switched to manga. At least the art style is praiseworthy.

It gets worse, actually.

There are few episodes with a good pacing. Most of them are flashbacks or serious stuff (Yasuie...)

Episode 950 for example takes place on chapter 950 of the manga

Episode 951 adapts both 950 and 951

so yeah, the pacing sucks.

Lol do people not realize that anime discussion is for general discussion. Post this on the One Piece anime board. Outside of that I stopped watching the anime at all once I saw Whole Cake had more episodes than chapters. The anime has been really bad with pacing since the timeskip and even before that it wasn't great. Surprised people actually still bother with the anime.

It isn't bad. Yet it is slower than the manga because the manga is ridiculously fast. It doesn't mean the anime pacing is bad.

The pacing in the anime is absolutely atrocious, and has been for years, ever since Dressrosa, or maybe even earlier. The story is constantly way too close to the manga and Toei will never put OP on a break because it prints mountains of cash. Usually when that happened back in the day the studio would just pull filler out of their ass but OP filler arcs have always been short so it doesn't really help at all. Dragging everything for way too long is the only choice they have.

Keep reading. The anime is not worth anyone's time.
