I also tried uploading a few pictures either at 225x350 or at a higher resolution in the same aspect ratio like a month ago and got some automatic replies a week or so ago only for a few of the pictures saying they weren't accepted with no valid reason. They also ignored my character submissions. Also tried fixing some of the names of characters where the romanization is completely inconsistent with the rest of the characters on the website and that was also ignored. Essentially you're just wasting your time trying to contribute anything valuable to the site. |

What's interesting to note, though, is how the mod who messaged me about incorrect picture dimensions (when I submitted the pic) ignored all further communication from my end to approve the correct image. Which is irritating bc he wasn't too busy to chit chat with his friend on his profile's comment section. |

But the next 4 or five pics I submitted for Bermuda and some other fringe anime are properly measured. I received zero response at all. It seems the mods are less active now? Notice how some older shows, those in the 2008-2012 range almost always have decent character pics. But newer shows that came out 2018 and 2019 barely have character pics on them. |
The easiest way to reach MAL mods, should be MAL, and no other medium of communication. And let's be honest - the DB mods are, by far and large, incompetent. Liddo-kun said: Same here. And since there's no point in sending these people messages, I just vent my frustration by shitting on them in the forums, from time to time. That's it. |

| In the first attempt I also did a noob mistake and submitted the pic in Incorrect pixel sizes. And that time they replied quickly stating that the pictures in 225×350 pixels are approved. Then after two weeks I submitted 15 pics(of different-different characters) in correct pixel sizes thinking that this time they will surely approve my submissions but there is no single response. They just ignored it. I use Anilist.co also and there is no problem with submissions like this. They respond very quickly....almost in less than 5 hrs. I wanted to edit a lot of information of one of my favorite series but I will do it when they will approve the previous submissions. But there is no hope at this time. 😓 Edit: The same day after posting a reply to this forum I got some pictures denied. But later on that day I uploaded some other pictures which got ACCEPTED. The same day there were some updates on the site. I guess the MODS come after few days to update the site and the same day they do modifications of characters and anime/manga. |
