I remember the ost before was one of the best ones I'd heard, even in the second season of TG, now we get this new season and the ost sounds like nothing more than some generic background music.

Actually no. Tokyo Ghoul's OST was extremely generic and boring at times besides a few tracks.

The background music in this season however is actually lit and fits with the story. It's anything but generic or bad.

It's also quite reminiscent of Hotline Miami's OST which is pretty cool i guess.

Might as well be the fact that the studio doesn't know where and how to use each track.

They shouldn't have changed the soundtrack.Tokyo Ghoul and Root A's OSTs were so good that they were heart warming like Licht und Schatten and Das Zweite Kapitel.
It's a shame that they changed it to some generic shit.

Or maybe their just using OST that match with the mood of the series and as someone who reads the manga the OST fits very well because tokyo ghoul and root a ost's dont really match with Re at all because they're generic as hell. The music in Re has more of a psychological feel which is perfect for it and yes it's the same composer so half of you can stop bitching about the music because now it seems like a ton of people are just starting to hate on the show, like it went from a 8.07 to 7.98 in 2 days for no apparent reason like what? Lmao

No, they're not. Have you actually listened to the whole OST? And I mean all of it? Because it's available on YouTube you can go ahead and listen to it, and then come back.

Why should the first two season's OSTs match with re even? And I'm not hating on the anime, I'm critising the OST which is not that great as you make it out to be. "Lmao"

The ost of tokyo ghoul re is beautiful, it's a pity that you do not have good taste.

Maybe try cleaning your ears. The ost is one of the saving grace in this adaptation.

Okay, fine, you're right, I got angry and shouldn't have talked in such a bitchy way, sorry. I just can't get why some people think this ost is this good, I want to but I can't.

Well, I don't know, I guess I just can't feel it. Maybe I'm comparing to the previous OSTs too much.

Fighting ost makes you wanna sleep. I prefer the older ones they were much better than what we have here so far.

I hope people defending this ost here are trolling. Just go back to the first moment of the first episode of Tokyo Ghoul. It's really easy to see how superior the ost from the first season is. The OST from this season is nothing but garbage. They only had one good song on the Touka scene, but that was it. I think the composer just saw how this new season was extremely bad, and made a soundtrack with the same quality. That's the only logical reason

I think we'll see better tracks when the moments present themselves? I think the only OST that was sort of reminiscent of the emotional "style" of the first two seasons was the one playing when Kaneki met Touka...perhaps we'll see more of these kinds of tracks when there are more 'emotional' moments

Yeah, this is exactly what I mean. There's nothing that much special about the OST, it's just basically some noise and at times you can barely even hear it. I'm surprised the opinions differ so much but everyone has their own, I guess. As for the anime... I don't know, it feels kind of lifeless, no emotion, no tention and the colouring itself seems very bland. Maybe I'm just super biased because of comparing it to pace of the previous seasons and the manga, but it's definitely not the best they could have done.

I agree. The OST is forgettable besides some scene from the second episode.
