This is apparently because mint aims for stability, and since KDE still has relatively frequent updates it's more suitable for a rolling release distribution than one like mint that has a very slow release schedule :3 No no, that's 50% across all cores xD They're working quite hard on making as much as they can work in batch updates across as many cores as they can. If you have 16 cores, then it will try to use all 16 cores :3 This is mainly an issue in multiplayer though since the game needs to make ridiculously large amounts of complex calculations for each ship, so when you add 50 players to the mix each in their own ship + npcs and what not then that's a lot of work for the cpu. They're of course working to lessen the load and improve performance. For example, they're working on making it so the game won't need to do this for players on the other side of the star system xD |

This is apparently because mint aims for stability, and since KDE still has relatively frequent updates it's more suitable for a rolling release distribution than one like mint that has a very slow release schedule :3 No no, that's 50% across all cores xD They're working quite hard on making as much as they can work in batch updates across as many cores as they can. If you have 16 cores, then it will try to use all 16 cores :3 This is mainly an issue in multiplayer though since the game needs to make ridiculously large amounts of complex calculations for each ship, so when you add 50 players to the mix each in their own ship + npcs and what not then that's a lot of work for the cpu. They're of course working to lessen the load and improve performance. For example, they're working on making it so the game won't need to do this for players on the other side of the star system xD Aww, what a pity :3 Not that much, mostly they wear their uniforms :3 And it's not even heavy on the oppai, but still hot :> Sounds like soon they'll only support Cinnamon and that's it tbh, maybe they lack manpower? :3 How can the CPU limit then though if it only uses 50% of all available and usable power? :3 Also that shows the power of Vulkan then I guess, I wish more games could utilize threads like that... You know how stable those are, especially xfce xD Don't know really how that works. I guess it's just that the calculations are time consuming :3 I don't think they've even started the vulkan port yet :3 And it should be a pretty obvious one too. I mean, why should I care about what players are doing on the other side of the galaxy, let alone waste tons of cpu time and RAM? xD They're also doing things like sending network requests in batches so they don't have to make so many requests to the server all the time :3 Also, crytek is trying to sue CIG :3 So how're you doing today aside from it being friday? :3 |
