I am going to be rewatching One Piece with some friends soon and when looking at the entry in my list I do not see any way to set rewatched episodes. Am I not seeing an option or is the feature not available? As I use my episode count to keep track of where I am up to I would rather not have to add the episodes I have watched on my own to those I watch with other people in the available Episodes watched field so if there is any way to do this can someone let me know.

When you click on the anime you want to rewatch (One Piece, in your case), there's a small link that says "Edit details". This link is located next to the "Update button" on the left side, in the area under the image of the anime.

When you click on "Edit details", there's a small checkbox with the text "Re-watching". If you check that checkbox, it changes the episodes watched to 0.

After that you can track your episodes like you usually would do.

Note: The episodes you've watched before checking the checkbox "Re-watching" are still saved. And so, when you uncheck "Re-watching", it will automatically change the amount of episodes you've seen to what it was before you checked "Rewatching".

Edit: Actually I checked on some animes, but I apparently haven't tried it on currently airing animes like "One Piece", my apologies. Only thing I can think of, is putting it into the comments. In the details of editing animes that are currently airing it had an input asking how many times you've watched it, so i figured you would also have the possibility to check "Re-watching" lol

MAL's rewatching feature actually works best on anime that are currently airing. If you're watching an anime while it airs and each week you watch the current episode twice then "rewatches = 1" will make everything accurate. If you've watched up to episode 700 of One Piece and start over then you'll have to make it back to that point before your stats will be accurate again.

You have to put it to completed first, that's a weird one, I suggested some months ago the same thing.

I did see that option but it isn't exactly what I am after due to the fact that as I would be rewatching One Piece from the start and I am over 500 episodes in so I would not really be able to get an accurate number of episodes watched until the people I will be watching it with fully catch up which I feel is important as I like looking at my statistics.
I have not checked if you can input floats or fractions in the rewatched field but other than the site devs allowing the rewatching field to be present on a show's details before having completed it, that is the only option I can think of.

Another thing worth trying, is using the "Total times re-watched" as a seperate "Episodes watched" but then for the episodes you've re-watched. So when you've re-watched around 100 episodes with your friend, you'd fill 100 in at "Total times re-watched".

NOTE: This may ruin your statistics, but I'll try it with One Piece.

I just tested using "Total times re-watched" when I set my "Episodes watched" on my One Piece entry, and it did not ruin the statistics, YET.

If this doesn't fit your needs, then I honestly don't know any way to help you at the moment.

The problem with that is that the Times Rewatched is a multiplier of your episodes watched so if you watch 100 episodes and set the times rewatched to 5 it treats it like you have watch those 100 episodes for the first time and then 5 more times each. The reason your stats are not messed up are because the site takes around half an hour to update the values other than those you input yourself, so your total episodes watched and time watched being the most visible of those.

Yeah, at first I figured that would happen, but after testing it I found out it had no effect yet, so I thought it could work. But it taking ~30 minutes to refresh does make sense.

I'm sorry, I don't know any other way besides putting your "Episodes watched" with your friend in "Comments" or putting it in "Tags".. Or the other options mentioned above..

In the "Comments" / "Tags" you could something like:

SamCur18639 - 152
Ulquiorra - 132

But that may be a bit annoying after a while.. And it won't count towards your statistics either..
