Opinions? Tokyo Ghoul is about at my cap for how much gore I can take. However, many of my friends suggested I watch Another. Note: I'm heavily into creepypasta (with over 450-ish under my belt) if that helps any.

I haven't seen Tokyo Ghoul but I'd suggest you skip Another. Second worst horror I've seen despite it being one of the more popular.

I though Another is entertaining, so I suggest OP watches it

Really only one scene was gory in a way that could put you off, but I saw it coming so you could totally close your eyes during it if you wanted

Berserk is the only good gory anime I've seen. Tokyo Ghoul and Elfen Lied were fun to watch, but they were honestly a bit too childish for me. Another was horrible though. The umbrella scene in Squid Girl was sadder than the one in Another. You get used to the death of the week standard so it's not even scary. Just like putting a rat in a blender, it's disgusting but you knew exactly what was going to happen so it's not much of a horror story.

??? Tokyo Ghoul isn't gory mate. There's a little bit of blood but that's it. Agree that Another is just a bad anime though.

In Tokyo Ghoul people are being eaten, so you could say that it's gorier than Another. But both of them aren't really gory.

Not sure which one is more gory since I haven't finished Tokyo Ghoul yet, but I was really initally very dissapointed with Tokyo Ghoul since a lot of websites indicated that it was a horror, which made me start watching it, but was clearly not a horror. Another would be more considered a horror title. Though Another wasn't necessarily mind-blowing either, but was still an enjoyable watch. I'll eventually try Tokyo Ghoul again. I kind of went in with the wrong mindset the first time I guess.

Well yes it is not.My point was that show has the most pointless gore I have ever seen so maybe OP want to see more.

Another and Tokyo Ghoul both have gore on them but use different techniques to explore them.

Another uses suspense and tension that makes a buildup to the death scenes that would leave feeling iffy.

Tokyo Ghoul focuses more on the action and psychotic elements and plays on morality in order to leave you iffy with the gore scenes.

In Terms of actual Gore Tokyo Ghoul has way more than Another.
In terms of execution that would leave more horrified at the gore scenes. than Another is the better executioner in that regard.

Try Tokyo Ghoul. I think its a little less gorier though some scenes at the end may disturb you if you aren't the "strong stomach" type.

I know it's been ages since the original post. Sorry- forgot to reply.
Ended up watching Another and very much enjoying it. (Maybe my gore cap is higher than I think 😉) It felt just like a creepypasta. Allthough it was poorly written in several areas, it's continuously creepy ambiance was spot on.
Plus Kouichi and Misaki were beyond cute.
I not sure if this was clear but I watched Tokyo Ghoul (uncensored) months before this post.
Really though I think I made this poll because I've only been watching anime for a few years and I'm still trying to figure out what genre's I like.

Tokyo Ghoul is more gorier than Another since Tokyo Ghoul do have scenes that the Ghouls eat human.
