Tidus had thought provoking moral dilemmas. Arguably some of the best material to grace the video game industry. Just because you didn't like his voice doesn't mean he wasn't well written. |

| Haven't played much FF games myself but I agree with Tidus being at the highest tier and maybe I'd put Balthier and Zack there as well. Also I think Vaan is at least mediocre tier. |

Cloud and Roxas aren't edgy given the context of the situation and I still hold Tidus as a well-written character (If you ignore X-2 and X-2.5) |

| I like them all except Lightning and Vaan, at least of the ones I've played so far (haven't played any pre-1997 yet). Vincent and Zack are nothing more than supporting characters as far as I'm concerned. |

| Huh... Balthier is not the protagonist of any game unless I'm forgetting some spin offs. Also Roxas is as much as a protagonist as Vaan's brother is (unless we are counting KH spin-offs then we have to add a bunch of different characters) Good list tho. |

From lowest tier to highest tier: Bartz Terra Squall Cecil Cloud Zack Zidane Haven't played anything beyond FF9 so I can't say for 10 and above. But Zidane is definitely at least high tier. Tactics doesn't count because we already know that's God Tier in terms of writing. |

| Almost every character from FFIX, especially Zidane, Vivi and Garnet. Zack is also great, and I liked him a lot more than Cloud. Cloud is okay, and his story is a little sad, but I just liked him a lot more in CC than in the FFVII and AC. |
