Meh. To be honest in the beginning, I was bummed out that this didn't get a 2-cour run time like Kill la Kill but the more that I thought about it, the more I believed it might've been for the best. Anime series with just 12 episodes tend to have more consistent quality of animation/art comparing to 2-cour series and have a lot less filler episodes. By looking at how the story of Kiznaiver is structured thus far, I believe they can tie the knots for the show in terms of plot/storyline without making it too rushed. My main concern is character development as there are 8 main characters in this show and I am not quite sure how they can flesh out each individual characters in a way where no one gets left in the dust (maybe dedicate one episode per character like a character-of-a-week type show while simultaneously progressing the plot in a reasonable pace)? I can see this working out for this show's benefit.

Good news is that the producer/director of this anime stated during an interview in Episode 0 that this show will in his opinion, have a satisfying finale so that is something to look forward to.

Damn, and I just stated in the discussion thread that I hoped that this series wasn't just 12 episodes. Well, the number of episodes doesn't matter as long as the story won't be rushed and the characters are all given some development and exposure to the audience.

I really dont think this is enough, specially if they're going with the current pace

Damn, I was hoping for at least 13 since 12 episoders rarely have any good closure. Oh well. Guess Trigger's budget expired with Kill La Kill, with Ninja Slayer as proof and Kiznaiver's low episode count as the cherry on top.

I hope the staff should increase the no. of episodes here. It does not seem to enough to cover everything it aimed here, unless the plot is the experiment itself.

Could there be a possibility it's split cour or whatever? Or would that show up showing more episodes still?

depends on how the story wraps up, with original shows like this, it could either turn ut amazingly for me or turn out to be a disaster of a mess.

There are a few shows that did the 1-cour route fairly well. A shows that come to mind are:
- Death Parade
- One Punch Man
- School-live!
- Anohana
- Kokoro Connect (similar concept to Kiznaiver except with less characters)
- Buccano!
- Madoka Magica
- Angel Beats (maybe, I felt like a lot of the characters in the SSS were left out in terms of character development, still pretty good overall though)

Let us hope Kiznaiver can execute the story well with just twelve episode while remaining consistent in quality of art/animation.

Seen all of those shows. Yes they were all pretty good, but to be fair, Baccano and Kokoro Connect had specials air after their cour to help complete the series.

But in all, a good 1-cour show is pretty rare. Studio Trigger has a (mostly) good track record so I have faith in them. We'll see how it goes. I just hope it doesn't become a Mekaku City Actors.

Very upsetting, the cast is so unique and interesting and hooked me on the show in a heartbeat, I dont even know where the show will go with its plot but it sucks that we'll only get one season of what looks to be a promising anime

Oh my gosh, I am so happy you brought up Mekaku City Actors. That show is the DEFINITION of a rushed execution with sloppy and inconsistent character development. What is scary is how closely Kiznaiver resembles Mekaku City Actors in their colorful cast relating to their internal struggles (each specific to a color no less), character-centered plot, and a MC who has a dark past with one of the female protagonist that he just can't seem to remember. The art style of Kiznaiver is also very reminiscent of Mekaku City Actors (as well as the humor). Just everything about that show reminded me of this one. However, Mekaku City Actors ended up scoring fairly low for me because the show became way too rushed towards the end and left a lot of things unexplained despite it's interesting premise.

It will be very sad if Kiznaiver becomes the next MCA. Only time will tell I guess.

Ah, you caught onto everything I meant by referencing MCA then, nice.
Kiznaiver reminds me a lot of MCA for all the same reasons you mentioned, but I don't see Kiznaiver's plot getting quite as complicated as MCA's at least. Then again, lots of anime's plots can take complete 360's at the end like with Mawaru Penguindrum and NGE, where what looked like a simple plot at first became something on par with Texhnolyze or Serial Experiments Lain in the end.
Luckily, Trigger doesn't really do shows like that but Trigger did come from Gainax originally so who knows.

Maybe there will be 12 more episodes (split cour). If the story really was finished within 12 episodes it would be good. Not too many boring episodes with nothing happening and a bit faster pacing.

If it was split cour ... it could get boring with a slow start ending in a cliffhanger (only getting interesting at episodes 10-12).

Episode 3 already was boring. (Only introducing 7th guy which they could have introduced already from the start. No plot/background infos on the Kizuna thing.)
