I don't know if it's just cause I put some time between watching this episode and the first one, but I feel like the intensity really picked up!

Ok, maybe I kind of like this.

So there is more than what meets the eye regarding the spaceship Dallos.

The guerilla tactics used by the rebels were neat, so hopefully there will be more of that to come despite of the shift in focus next episode.

I expected Rachel to become upset after finding about Shun interacting with Melinda. I wonder how the relationship between them will turn out by the end.

That police guy is really messed up. Not only was robots vs one criminal Overkill, he also endangered his men.

Some of that was straight out of the movie "Battle of Algiers" (in turn meaning it was directly adapted from actual guerilla tactics).

I liked this a lot better than the first episode. The pacing was much better and there was some actual urgency to the action scenes. The editing was still a bit sloppy though.
Also I feel like in this episode it has slightly started to move away from generic late 70s/early 80s anime and more into the realm of Oshii's now well known wheelhouse. One thing I can say about this is that the long monologues about human existence and conflict don't really get exhausting here, like they would in a certain other early Oshii piece *cough*patlaborthemovie*cough*

Dallos is moving on its own. Interesting development. I wonder how massive that thing is? I am not much into mecha anime but this is definitely intriguing.

Aw, man... Dallos is starting to move on its own - I’m guessing we’ll get some backstory on it in the next episode.

As soon as Dog told Shun to watch Melinda, I knew he was going to help her escape. Wonder if anybody got hurt in the tunnel collapse.
