Love Suikoden, though I've only played I and II (no PS2 T_T). And my favorite is also II. I remember loving how the battle system was. Before I played I, I had never played a game where multiple people could attack at the same time and it was pretty awesome :D

Hai hai, you know I do!

Suikoden 2 is the best. Then 3 is my next fave. But I still love all of them!

Luc = most fave char ever! And Nanami is totally my fave female char. Uguu. I like a lot of them though!!

The cooking game was really fun though! I want it again!

haha...It's philo xD
*cough* anyhow...

My fav Suiko game....it's a tie between Suiko 2 and 5 unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how you look at it)
Fav Suikoden character is a little harder to answer....Futch was always my fav in the first 3 games and from Suikoden 5 I rather liked Roy....

Recently Luc and Sasari has grown on me a tad bit also (probably because I find their backstory rather interesting)....OH! I always liked the Flame Champ too...although we never actually get to know him much....

Ahhh there's so many characters it's hard to choose one absolute fav xp

I love Suikoden! Suikoden I is the first game I ever beat. I was 10. ^^ My favorite though is Suikoden 5, definitely. Totally drew me into its world of political drama. My favorite character...prolly Jeane. She's pretty much the star of *all* Suikodens, anyway. :D :D :D

I still remember the scene where the main character's little sis first met Jeane. "My mom says there's a name for people like you! You're a hussy!" I nearly died laughing.

own all 5 released in the US. Favorite has to be the first one, and favorite character was the main character from 1.

I loooove 5. Not as much as FF8, but it's good for an RPG. I<3Belcoot. :3;

But Viki still beats her. :P

In my book, its Suikoden II > All Other Games

Its probably the only game I've played through and beaten over 15 times. I've seen every single possible scene in it and done everything possible... I was kinda sad when Suikoden III was released in 3D rather than the good old 2D style I'd grown accustomed to, but it was still good. And then there was Suikoden IV... I completely beat that game with everything completed in one go in under 16 hours. It was FAR too easy and overall, a disappointment. I have yet to get Suikoden V yet, but I have high hopes for it.

Genso Suikoden is its own world - the unique Stars of Destiny, militaries, tribes, runes, warfares... everything and that's what I love most about it. Plot definitely is major role on what makes RPG so damn good, and Suikoden delivers on that. Plain awesomeness.

Suiko II was a PS1 game like nothing else. I did about 4 or 5 runs already but never finished the last one although I was able to get McDohl in my party.

I never played the third or 4th one but I enjoyed the 5th one so much. A protagonist who hail from nobility, ends up having a tragic events that tests his strength. Since this was my first PS2 Suiko, I love the new features, environmental control, 3-D graphic, cutscenes, and perhaps voice-overs as well. I heard the game is the easiest in Suikoden standard but I got no problem with that~

Favourite Suikoden is definately II. Heh. And after that III. I did not warm up to V as much as others have (I got bored quite a long way into the game) but it does have it's good points. And it is a HUGE step forward from the train wreck that was Suikoden IV. I cry at the fact that Suikoden IV was the first Suikoden for many RPG gamers and they were turned off from the franchise forever. My friends were some of these people.

They'll never known what an awesome universe this series takes place in.

Favourite characters include III's Chris Lightfellow. Suikogaiden's Nash Latjke (also found in III). Umm. The flying squirrels in II! And Luca Blight! Awesome villain with the most awesome quotes. Sierra Mikain (or something like that) for her interactions with Nash.

Pfft. Nobody beats Jeane. But my memory fails me. Who's the teleport girl? She's almost as awesome as Jeane is.

Also...if you started with Suikoden IV you should smack yourself. Why with IV rather than 1 or 2? Or even 3?

I got the first two when they were new... I think Suikoden ran me $20 and Suikoden II ran me $26. Suikoden can be gotten rather cheaply as I've seen the price around $40 on EBay, but Suikoden II would be a killer to your wallet. I've seen it go over $200 before.

Luca Blight is by far the greatest villain ever in the suikoden series. follow closely by the main villain in suikoden III. All in my opinion of course

The better ones are II, V, and I in that order, III IV and tactics are bleh....

I’ve found it!” Tas said reverently. “A holy artifact!” He held it to the light. “The Kender Spoon of Turning.”

“Are you sure?” Usha leaned forward, examined it closely. “It looks like the spoons we used last night at dinner. It’s even got strawberry jam on it.”

“Don’t be frightened, Usha, but that’s blood,” said Tas solemnly. “It’s the Kender Spoon of Turning. I’d know it anywhere. My Uncle Trapspringer carried one with him all the time....”

Only manage to play Suikoden I & II, me too poor to have PS2 XD.
Well it been aged since I play this games but I still remember what to do if I re-play(done it twice already XD) it.

I just love the idea of owning a castle, being the lord and owning a army. It also cool that you have 108 "heroes" working under you XD. I just don't like the fact that in Suikoden II we have to be the "Shield Rune", the "dark sword" was more intriguing.

Suikoden is my personal favorite RPG series and I love all the games to death, well, except for 4. The game wasn't terrible and was still better than a lot of other RPGs, it just didn't live up to the Suikoden name.

Here is how I would rank them.

1. Suikoden II - This is pretty much the universal #1 and for good reason. It's arguably the single greatest RPG ever made.

2. Suikoden III - Without a doubt the longest, most difficult, and most involving Suikoden game yet. This game is really hit or miss since it differs from the usual Suiko formula, but I put it only one notch behind Suiko II. This game is a masterpiece in my eyes.

3. Suikoden V - This game was basically Suiko II on the PS2. It went back to the classic Suiko style after 3 and 4 departed from it and this game was an amazing comeback for the series after the disappointing Suiko 4.

4. Suikoden - This is where we take a bit of a dive but I can't hate on Suiko 1 like I do on 4 just because Suiko 1 was the original and it got this epic series started. It was a great game for it's time and I really enjoyed it, but Suiko II does everything this game does and it does it about 100 times better.

5. Suikoden IV - Every series has it's down point and this game is exactly that for the Suikoden series. The whole thing was just rushed together and it featured boring battle systems, boring characters, a boring world, and boring artwork. Oh well, at least Konami rebounded in a big way with the masterful Suikoden V.

GAH yay!!! a Suikoden thread hehe

Suikoden 2 is the most awesomest ever I think I've played it more than 5 times now =__= Next would be 5 or 1.. I started playing 5 after all the reviews on it saying it was as good as 2.. but it doesn't have the same pull that I got from 2 so 2 is my favourite. And I loved the cooking contests. And recipe searching, well everything searching really. Number 3 annoyed me I didn't like the change from the 6 people party and I got turned off from playing after the first... i duno after you went to find the flame champion (forgotten what he was called now)....

My most favourite character (s) would beee
Flik (he's so good looking, and loyal, and just cool), Viktor (super funny), and Sierra (just awesome in general). Oh I liked Odessa too (from 1 even though her role was so... short.. darn..

I have Suikoden III which I don't play as that the graphics aren't very good, not to mention it isn't fully-voiced. More over, I have the better sequels. 8.5 hours into Suikoden IV, didn't really like it as that the protagonist looks like a generic character compared to the 108 comrades. The designs were not very good..

Suikoden V is the best of the series. I am already 7 hours into the game, even though its really somewhere near the beginning as that I spent most of the time wandering towns and grinding. Then, there is Suikoden Tierkreis which isn't very good IMO but I am only 10-15 minutes into the game.

I such a Suikoden fanboy. I even loved Suikoden IV! Suikoden II caused more impact on me. I don't really have a favorite character. I love the character interaction than the characters themselves. However, if I need to nominate one character, he would be Nash Latkje. He was great in Suikoden III and his backstory was very cool in the Suikogaiden games. And of course, Luca Blight is one of the greatest villains of all time as well.
