Anyone know what actually happened with this? Airing in Spring 2009 I THINK NOT

it seemed interesting, but then nothing ever came of it.

Tried to dig a bit but didn't find much. Google translation of japanese wiki (which was hillarious) mentioned nothing of an anime adaptation.

Too bad. This seemed like worth watching.

Damn, that's a shame. Guess there's not much point in keeping it in the database until we hear anything more about it (if that'll ever happen).

Thanks for the update on this. Too bad it'll have to wait for another year, but at least it's something. It's one of my most anticipated series at this point.

Glad to hear it's actually coming. I'm really looking forward to this. Only two chapters have been scanlated but it seems to have a lot of potential. It's rare to get a dark serious series like this nowadays outside of manga.

It does exist! A whole year delay is a pity, but there'll be enough else in the mean time that I can just hope it'll be worth the wait.

*Air date actually announced.*
*Madhouse is the studio producing it.*
*Already sounded good to begin with.*

Okay, I'm officially excited for this. Spring is looking like it could potentially have as many good TV series as the entirety of 2009.

The manga is totally dark, it is the kind of story that crushes all the faith that you may have in humanity. When you read this story you can't help gritting you teeth because of all th rage that the story inspires.

I hope that Madhouse will succeed in the adaptation.

We can count on MadHouse, Death Note , Aoi Bungaku and some others. They seem to be very skilled with adapating adult material.

Well, Madhouse has took the right first step with the OP and ED artists.

OP - "We're Not Alone" by Coldrain (J-band with fluent English, and great sounds)
ED - "A Far-Off Distance" by Galneryus (Power metal, with amazing guitar sounds.)

haha galneryus. That's surprising since from what I gathered Rainbow would be rather slow paced and deeeeep, yet Galneryus are fast-paced power metal that sing about typical power metal things (war, battle, victory, heroism, etc.). Hmmmmmmmmmmmm

It could always be like the verse of the Mnemosyne ED (by them), which would make it fit... And even if it isn't, Madhouse can make anything work.

Nothing much happened in this episode, but the atmosphere is intense.
The author of the story was a criminal himself and had served time in jail himself as a boy, so most of the stuff is actually based on real experiences...of course still made palatable to a bigger audience.
It's clear already that it's going to be very melodramatic and I hope they manage to show us both sides of each character and not only make them into poor victims of an evil society...they've got about 230 chapters (in 22 volumes) to choose from, which is kinda a tough thing, because lately Madhouse has done almost nothing longer than 12 episodes.

The visuals are good Madhouse stuff, even though of course it's not the same level as a Mouryou no Hako or Aoi Bungaku. A bit understandable, too, as they had to keep true to the original designs, whereas in the other cases they were completely free to do what they wanted.
Waiting for: God Eater (PSP)
