I'll be honest, I really can't be arsed watching the entire neon genesis evangelion series.
However, the new movies look extremely interesting(and plus I already know about the characters, story and what happens at the end). Same with the three berserk movies, do they both follow the original storyline or are they completely different?

Thanks

The rebuilds are much worse than the series, and if anything, much more confusing. I'd still recommend checking out the original Evangelion series and The End of Evangelion, everything is executed much better and isn't fan-pandering trash.

I'd do the same for Berserk too... the new Berserk movies are mainly for fans. Watch the original series, or read the manga for a better experience.

the berserk movies basically reflect what happens in the anime, but the anime is far better. the movies are somewhat... soulless

Are they really that bad? The second movie has an 8.77 here on MAL...

Original series > End of Evangelion > Rebuild (Rebuild is a sequel, not a remake)

Rebuild aren't worse than the original series, but you can't appreciate the movies as much, if you haven't seen the original series and End of Evangelion. I feel like the movies expect you to know some things that are only shown in the TV show.

Don't mind him he's an anime hipster. All I needed to do to confirm that was to check out his favourites. ^^
