Two movies that I really liked when I was in middle school were "Sarafina" and
"To Kill a Mockingbird". I don't really have a favorite movie of all time but I think some people can agree with To Kill a Mockingbird

Can't say there is one. But if there was only one movie in the world. I would Pick one of Stephen Chows works. Like Duke of Mount Deer or Journey to the West.

Since I can rewatch that again and again without getting bored.

There are a few that I consider to be of very high quality and also enjoyable; I can't narrow down the list to just one.

The Birth of a Nation - This silent classic is visually stunning and well designed. Unfortunately, it is also incredibly racist by today's standards, but I have always tried to consider movies and other cultural productions in the context of their times, so I can overlook its racism and appreciate its many good points.

Modern Times - Charlie Chaplin's masterpiece features a good deal of his unique physical comedy along with scathing social criticism. Its message continues to resonate today, especially in the light of the abysmal economic conditions prevalent in much of the world.

The Wizard of Oz - The classic 1939 film starring Judy Garland is probably familiar to many, if not most, people here. Its visuals, pacing, and music are perfect for the setting of the story.

Meet Me in St. Louis - For me, this film is everything a Hollywood musical should be - lavish visuals, great music, a story with just enough but not too much depth, and of course the perfect happy ending. This film must have been a great escape from the horror of World War II. (I am admittedly a bit of a Judy Garland fangirl, so it certainly helps that she is the star.)

2001: A Space Odyssey - This masterpiece of science fiction has a unique and experimental feel to it.
It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.

that was one of the dumbest movies I've ever seen. I could not stand this brutal stupidity portrayed in the movie. MC was the unlikeable like nobody else.
I guess you could see this movie as social criticism, but still... I could not enjoy it.

To each their own. It's definitely a 'love it or hate it' movie.

To me, it's probably my favourite film to date, and I've only watched it a few months ago. The 'brutal-ness' of it is to show how much people can go when it comes to liberating themselves from the social standards of society. It's over-the-top, but then again, the entire film is.

I actually loved Edward Norton - not only his performance, but his character overall. I love his snarky narrations and his attitude and how he deals with things - it's a neat contrast with Tyler Durden (Brad Pitt - who was equally as good)

I could go on and on tbh.
