| Many thanks to the staff and for their hard work! Seems the profile pics are broken for me and I need to log every time I leave MAL's page. But at least I can update my list now <3 That hacker sure is a big troll from bringing down MAL :< |

| Is it because of this that a lot of images for MAL just is not loading? Such as the majority of user avatars. I've even changed my avatar but have yet to see it. It isn't just myself, but I can not see lots of other user's avatars. And other images such as anime/manga main pictures. |
| Thank you for getting this site back up. Although there is still a lot of glitches like some images of the characters won't load. I missed this site man. This site is a life savior from the amount of animes I watch. >o< I can't stand hackers who do this kind of thing. |

| Are the databases safe or should I download my database to keep it safe? And aren't the ip's logged? And can you(myanimelist programmers) add something that if an IP is reconnecting way too much in a short time, like log the time when a ddos message is sent, safe the value, and if the same ip connects again, check how many connections it has in the past minute, if thats over a certain amount, lets say over 10000, block the ip or send a timeout page to the ip. Nobody needs to connect to myanimelist 10000 time a minute because thats almost physically imposible for a human. When the ip is blocked or timeout make an opportunity page where people can unblock themselves for whatever reason may be. Good luck |

If solving DDoS attack was as simple as blocking an IP address, there wouldn't be a problem at all. When you try to access the server, even if your IP is banned then the server must respond to you in some sort of way. So even if he cannot access the site and it's content, he can still increase the server load this way. |
