| Not even close. The series actually does better and is from god knows how long ago. his movies are the shittiest of the shit. Butchering the story and it's atmosphere in every way possible. |

Do these films do the manga justice? No. 2 major negatives:- - CGI: in few scene it looks gamish and awkward. - They cut out important stuff here and there. on the other hand:- + Nice Backgrounds and Hand drawings. + OST were good. + They did Great job with some scenes. + Overall it was enjoyable. -for me- was it better than the anime series? hmm.. on the same level. both (the movies and the anime ) has their + and - . was it better than the manga? No, the manga much better. |

| Apart from the movies consisting of PlayStation2-quality CGI and some weird changes that don't make sense: 1997 anime runtime: 625 mins (still with plenty of characters and chapters cut out from the manga) Movie-trilogy combined runtime: 266 mins Pretty much says everything. |

| Old threat but I must say how good the movies are. Sure, they're rushed and skip over a significant amount of content. But the stuff that is adapted is executed perfectly. Movie 3 is far better than the 97 anime and even the manga content. |
