Why consider themselves NEETs if they take on jobs?

This was perhaps the mind-numbing part of the story premise of Heaven's Memo Pad for me. If Alice and her group are taking on jobs for their detective agency, then why do they consider themselves NEETs who are folks not taking any training, education or employment?

because what they are doing are Odd Jobs. its kinda like projects.
i dont have a job but i do projects for my cousin which has an IT company so i get paid but not regularly, i also teach my nephew programming and do polls on the phone. i can fill a whole month doing all of them or watch anime instead and do nothing.
i think thats how they consider neet.

btw, they might not getting payed for those cases but through another way. idk
