| This show's playing at the standard shounen tropes tactfully. I didn't think I would, but I rather like Eren so far. The angry, narrow-minded MC trope is easier to empathize with in this context, nevermind Eren wields more insight and intellect than your standard breed. Not disappointed yet, but it's still early. |

| Mikasa's top of the class I wouldn't say I'm too surprised but I felt like it Annie was intimidating back then when they were training you don't want to mess with her in circumstances, Ooh we get to see Levi a bit in that scene, Hannes is still in good shape it's been a while Holy shit a Colossus Titan just appeared, The next episode is going to be hype af. |

| Look at how Eren copied Annie move smoothly to teach that dude. Potato girl once again became the joke to the entire squad, damn you Mikasa. Top 10 enrolled, ofc Eren choice the hard route. Unexpectedly his generic shounen speech changed some people mind to join his same side on the Survey Corps, which obviously will make the next episode more interesting. Because, y'know, surprise motherfucker titan just appeared to prove its sure truth. Alright. Levi and Erwin first appearance! |

| I like the opening of the episode where Shadis gives a background of each of our main characters- especially calling Reiner both physically and MENTALLY strong. Yup. I forgot a few things that happened in this episode. For one, I have no idea how I do not recall "sasha farted". I also don't remember the brutal save by Sasha as saved this Samuel character from falling to his death, but had to do so by skewering his leg with her maneuver gear. Damn. Holy crap is this show fast-paced. "It's been 5 years..." but it sure doesn't feel like 5 years. Heck I normally am hugely in favour of fast-paced anime, but this time I almost wish to have had one more episode before getting to the battle of Trost. It's like, we've just experienced a brutal slaughtering of who knows how many people at the hands of the titans, and now we're already going to experience that again. People we have just met and have already started to care for are about to go bye bye. This is the most pathetic of nitpicks, but I still think just a little more build-up to this 2nd round with the titans would've been nice. On a somewhat related note, I personally don't think the sense of time of 5 years has been felt, I also don't really feel the sense of distance. These walls are several hundred kilometers apart from each other, but it feels like we're at the same place because these towns/cities are pretty much identical. I don't feel like the titans are getting closer to the center, but rather they're just attacking at another part Wall Maria. What I would've liked to see is even just a montage of the journey from Wall Maria to Wall Rose (the middle wall, right? Or is it Sina... I forget), and then as they're travelling, see wall Rose come up on the horizon. Just a few shots like that a lot would've help us get more sense of distance that they have travelled between these two walls, rather than just showing a diaphragm of the distance between the walls. Because having a feel for that distance would've make this 2nd breach feel even more harrowing and impactful, because it would enhance the feeling of humanity losing their source of protection even more. But again, a really, really minor nitpick, and not required to stir up the hype generated by this episode. Because damn, this was pretty hype seeing Eren hopeful and optimistic about humanity being able to fight back against the titans, and then suddenly have the Colossal titan show up behind him and destroy a wall once again- and they had just finished their training. Man, I hope nothing bad happens to that couple that so far has had a total screen time of about 10 seconds but I'm already getting attached to. Also when the Survey Corps return in this episode and the background characters are like "there's captain levi! he's so strong!!", I was like, huh? What's the big deal? That's when I was dumb and didn't know anything. edit: and another fun fact, I was a major simp of Mikasa when I first watched this. I still kind of am. But this time, most of my simping is going to Annie. |

| I know they introduce 10 characters more clearly than others but putting them in the top 10 like that seems a bit unconvincing. Like it's pre-arranged. And I don't want Mikasa to be Eren's shadow. It contradicts her genius ability. And again, shounen style but, I quite like the way the out-of-nowhere plot twists scene jumps into the face of the viewer. |

| REWATCHING THE SERIES SASHA BLOUSE is such a free spirit! I love her omg! I want to swing freely all day on my 3D Maneuver with her.  And her saving Samuel was fucking awesome!! TOP 5 FAVORITE CHARACTER! Eren's speech was the pinnacle of this episode. Without Eren's unwavering determination, all of the top 10 would've gone to the Military police. He's matured really fast. Now Jean needs to catch up lol. Fighting just for a comfortable life is pointless. Moral of the story: The reasoning behind your actions weigh heavy. Annie is OP. The way she knocked Eren and Reiner to the ground! HAHA  What she said was true tho and she made Eren realize the contradiction: "Everyone is honing their titan-killing skills, so that they'll never need to fight them." My question is: And now we know how Mikasa feels about Eren: "I don't want to lose any more family."  |
