Why did Nico Robin turn white?

I never understood why they changed Nico Robin's skin colour. It made her look incredibly different. And it characters still saw her as Nico Robin, no questions asked. Her bounty poster still has her original skin colour. I found it quite hard to accept at first, it has grown on me. But, I still want the old skin colour back.

Thoughts?

Well apparently that's how her skin color looked in the manga, the anime also changed her eye color to blue when it was brown in the manga. After the timeskip you can say that it was because of a tan and trying to match it more with the manga.

Robin never had a "tan/dark skin" in the manga. That's just something the anime went with during the Baroque Works saga.

I'm guessing they changed it to correlate more with the actual manga canon skin tones. Same with Usopp and Zoro.

probably changed her look during the 2 yr. timeskip to show us how she avoided any trouble with the World government while she was training or something lol

I think the most logical answer is that she was tanned.Living in Tequila Wolf for 2 years made her skin lighter.

I mean, I was always under the assumption that she was at the Revoluntionary HQ island, since she gets rescued by the RA at Tequila Wolf and the last we see of her pre TS is on a boat, since why would she stay at the place that imprisoned her for 2 years. Also, the way Koala reacts when seeing her at Dressrosa implies she knew her pretty well (I know this is comment is ~2 years old)
