I see many people here blame A-1 for deciding to make a 2nd season for whatever reason. I just want to repeat what I said before: For adaptation work, the decision of whether there is a 2nd season almost always rests with the publisher, and in this case it is Shogakukan (which publishes the Weekly Shounen Sunday in which Magi is serialized). In fact, the editor of Magi from Shounen Sunday tweeted in the official Magi twitter that the decision to make a 2nd season was made quite recently ( https://twitter.com/project_magi/status/318280302558588929 ). This would explain why they had an anime original ending but yet at the end there is still a 2nd season. In another tweet, perhaps by some other person, it said that they shipped 10 million copies of the manga ( https://twitter.com/project_magi/status/318328247794425856 ). I can see this is more than sufficient reason to continue the anime.
So I take it Shogakukan are happy about this "90th Anniversary of Shogakukan" anime? Well if I think of it, it sure is making people buy the manga, so making the anime's content different than the manga is of profit, isn't it?

Why would you do anime-original bullshit if you planned a second season in the same year?
They could've just followed the source and end it on a cliffhanger, but no.
Fucking A1 and Aniplex.

That doesn't erase the fact that it's a crappy adaptation. If they're gonna change the content then at least animate something that can be watched, not slide-shows and cardboards, and derp-faces. The sakuga is also really bad at a lot of places too. I mean it's a 25-episode series, why is the animation that bad?

There might be drop offs in places, but I think some parts of this series were pretty well animated. I hope people realize that the manga aside, people love this as a stand alone anime. It can't be as bad as people are saying. I think it's pretty great.

Having a 2nd season is great! However I sure hope they don't ruin this >.< Magi has a potential for a long run they shouldn't kill it by changing the manga! not when it's perfefect X(
A-1 please let things go the way they should be :(

I'm sure they would rush this one, by fall they'll only have like 70 chapters to animate left for the season, unless they make it a 12 episode anime o.O?

75 chapters would make a nice well-paced 25 episode season, wouldn't it? 3 chaps per episode is a good pace, might be a bit rushed but it's still good compared to the 5-7 chapter per episode of the first season. Though there's still the problem of the animation.

That's about the same amount of chapters that the Bleach anime used in its first arc. Hmm... I suppose it could work...

Ugh no..
All the changes were pointless and just made the storyline so shallow, though they don't care.. Anime only watchers are missing out lol.
I'd be okay with season two if they could prove they'd be able to handle a storyline like Magnostadt..
But I can only imagine the worst... I mean, Alibaba is OOC as hell.. And they couldn't even get Kassim to come out right. How will Mogamett turn out? And Sche? It scares me lol.
Feels like A-1 is torturing manga fans.. I guess it's okay for anime only fans, but really.. You'd think they'd have some respect to the authors original work, but they are running all over it. Feels rude XD
Though actually I love the Magno arc.. But the way they speak sounds as if they are gonna skip straight to it?

If a second season will come so this early why didnt they wait with the Magi anime instead, considering how the beginning feelt (eps 1-13) i first thought it would be somewhere around 50-70 eps.

Hmm I'll probably watch this, don't want to finish the first season because of how sucky the ending is though, the animation was the weakest part of the show though so I hope they learned their lesson instead of focusing all their efforts on only one show (vividred) this time around..

It's because Alibaba acts very OOC, and because they decided it'd be okay to do a second season despite all the plot holes and inconsistencies they just created. Oh and that they kind of pulled stuff out of nowhere and Alibaba's situation was pretty much just solved with the power of friendship.
Jeez... Well, I'm not so against a second season now I think more. Magnostadt is a great arc, and I love the characters that come later. Hopefully they don't rush again and cut/skip things a lot.
And I really want to see Kouha animated ε=ε=ε=ε=ε=ε=┌(; ̄◇ ̄)┘

That was faster than I expected. I would say I'm happy about the second season, but seeing as how it'll probably be produced by A-1 again I can't say I'm too excited for it. They already messed up the 1st season enough as it is.
