DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Mokkori drink ftw The music that played while Ryo was asking everyone out is one of my favourites in City Hunter. Ryo took one of those first goons with an open palm strike, badass as usual. Kaori has been called a man a lot of times but Ryo broke the record, he called her his little brother who was an okama but the plan backfired and Haruka went after Kaori. The ending was amazing, Ryo was really cool with that line and the ED started playing! |

| This girl was cool, she was a LGBT ally, though she needs to stop touching people like that lol; and she appreciated Ryou's body! For as great as it is, it doesn't get enough appreciation after all. I guess his mokkori-ness is a deal breaker for most people. Always nice to have Saeko too! |

I'm thoroughly enjoying City Hunter 2 right now on Crunchyroll thanks to Discotek Media, and I was in the midst of watching this episode, and I came across this line that I found particularly odd: Was LGBT a term back then when City Hunter 2 was airing or when this chapter of the manga came out in Shonen Jump? As a translation, it works in the context of this episode and it might have been the best way to get the point across, but I feel unsure if this was something that was said back in the late 1980s in Japan. I know the term was first used in America in 1988, but not so sure about Japan. I'm not complaining about how this episode handles a LGBT supportive character, moreso I'm wondering about the term itself and its use in Japan back then. |
