What a heart-jerking episode. The Wasp is now going to sink and the Mirai has to live with taking over a thousand lives. This show is brilliantly executing the show, making me feel upset overwhat just happened. The tension over the moral dilemma was high and it was not an easy descision at all to make.

Kikuchi experiencing wars full brunt

The past reveal just adds to the fact that Kikuchi never wanted to be on war field. He stayed to keep his friends (Kadomatso and Oguri) in control. Now he fully understands the responsibility of being weapons officer.
I don't know why people write that they are approachable persons,
if you were you wouldn't be on MAL.

Extended families or lovers on MAL are a farce.

@basspig ... only to stop right when it all begins. -_-

(I still like the animation, it makes for a great introduction despite the often clunky-looking vehicles)

Drastic situation calls for drastic measures, the tomahawk missile is the key to ensuring Mirai and her crew from further attacks, but at what cost? 2000 men and a major change to history, that's what...

The fact that we have been introduced into the POV of the Americans made them less of just being there and more of a humane character, but the freedom of choices is limited for Masayuki, leaving only the most radical of action only to save themselves. Masayuki, the man who once was about to leave the navy as he wishes to not kill others, is now the man behind the button For him to go against SDF's motto and principle, go against his own moral code all atop having to bear the burden of thousands of casualties, imagine the amount of mental dilemma and insanity that he's facing right now...

Yet again, it's ironic to see a distinctively American Tomahawk Cruise Missile be used against an American Aircraft carrier. This show did the missile justice, the sound effects and the animation used for the missile is awesome.

The series has made an error identifying the USS Wasp as a Yorktown-class carrier. It was actually a unique scaled-down version of a Yorktown designed to use up remaining tonnage limit of carriers alloted to the US Navy in the Washington Naval Treaty. The limited tonnage led to serious design compromises which made it more vulnerable to torpedoes (how it was sunk in history) and internal fires (both history and this series).

Japan was also a signatory of the Washington Naval Treaty and its secret breaking of treaty's terms is why the Yamato-class ships were larger than the battleships of other navies.
