I'm a girl and I hate horror movies but I went to one of those haunted house things once with my mom and a male friend and when I started getting scared, I somehow automatically grabbed the back of the guy's shirt. I was so embarrassed and he was laughing at me. >_<

How romantic.

It'd be romantic if the guy didn't always tease me and grate on my nerves.

Oh god, I sound like some kind of tsundere. >_<

I'm assuming that guys feel lucky when a chick gets scared at a movie. They can take advantage of the situation.

I don't think so. Because they can be annoying at times. :|

Ho that statement isn't true my friend.
Me and my female cousin was watching 'Insidious'.
And damn, she grabbed my...
oh no not arm.
MY HAIR and damn it hurts. WHY o Why
So, where's the romantic part? huh? TELL MEH
xD
Well surely she grabbed your pubic hair, that in itself was the romantic part, I mean obviously she was relying on your dick to keep her safe.
Oh you like talking dirty, my friend. Tsk tsk, bad bad. xD As far as i can remember, it's not my pubic hair. AS FAR AS I CAN REMEMBER. xDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

It just means she likes to play rough.

Every time an interesting-sounding horror movie comes to town, I can never get my friends to go with me; the same people who would take the invitation were it any other kind of film. Going to the movies alone is too boring.

I wish one of my girlfriends would go with me. Always wanted to see if this was true. Even if it meant receiving some kind of bodily damage for it later.

So as a female horror movie fan, I don't really get scared of 'em often at all. I will say the one time I was watching a horror movie with a male friend and he buried his head in my shoulder because he was freaked out by a scene, I oddly really enjoyed it (it was pretty cute and entertaining. Especially as he's a horror buff, too, and isn't at all prone to that). Sad to say, but I can see the appeal for guys enjoying that sorta thing.

But on that note, it's not just guys who get satisfaction out of "protecting" their significant other. Women actually really like being protectors, too. For me, though, I think I was mostly entertained that he normally isn't like that. If I had a friend who was literally freaked out and always complaining, then it'd suck. But if you're freaked but still enjoying the movie, yeah, I see the appeal.

I'm one of those girls who get scared during horror movies. It's not just horror movies, certain psychological thrillers too. But I don't scream..lol....I just cover my ears and close my eyes and hope the scene passes quickly. Yeah, then I ask myself why did I watch it in the first place? Well, I think it could be fun to feel your heart leaping out of your chest and your mind malfunctioning, especially when you are sharing the experience with a group of friends. You get a good laugh about it after. But I've never actually watched a horror movie alone with a guy though. Hmm, I do wonder how I will act.....

People are afraid of horror movies?
As a child, I was told that society is a melting pot of talents; knowledge and experience combined to form important alloys that will contribute to mankind. When I got to highschool, however, I thought that it's more like a river in which the water represents our peers while we ourselves are the stones in the river. Constant erosion by mindless majority sheeping has made us lose our unique edge. After I hit the age of 18, I realized that I've been wrong all along. Society is no melting pot. Society is no river. Society is a person, a very skilled rapist, and he has fucked us all.

I think that it is generally fine so long as she is not a screamer. I cant stand people being noisy during a movie. I'm that guy who will get out of his seat in a cinema to tell someone to shut the f**k up!

Once upon a time a girl liked a guy. We were in a room full of people and unfortunately, she couldn't sit at either of his arms, so she was kind of upstage around his legs. My dear friend told this girl that if she wanted to look cute and flirty, she should hold onto his legs. So being blindly optimistic, she did. It was quite honestly the most bizarre thing I've ever seen. The guy was also like "wtf" and tbh if she had no chances before, she had even less now. My friend apologized for the mishap and horrible advice. Years later I still laugh about it with my friend at the girls' expense. I sorry, girl. But you lost the guy doing something you thought would win the guy. It's just courtesy to laugh.

Went to paranormal activity 3 2 years ago with a bunch of friends...

For the love of god they won't stop gasping and jumping from their seats... (what's worst was, 2 guys couldn't move from their chair after the movie... and it's their second watch LMFAO!)

I prefer to go to a tear-jerker when there's girls though, good chance to gently pat their head when they're crying.

That would be good if it wasnt for them bugging us(me and my friends)to GO to the horror movies. And to be honest I prefer any horror movie instead of ANY romance/drama movie they want.Either they have shitty taste in that genre or we were missing something because we didnt want the lead's dick

While watching Sinister, one of my friends kept on screaming. Her screaming surprised me more than the actual movie. At one point I said,
"Lauren, shut the fuck up! It's just a movie!"
Instant regret, now ever since I've been trying to get things back to normal between us. lol

I mean, we see this situation in pop culture media all the time. Guy and girl at a horror movie, girl gets scared and grabs onto the guy's arm or something.

But what do you think of this in real life? I mean, not someone who is being overly-dramatic and just trying to get attention from her companion.
But do some guys really get satisfaction from "protecting" the female in this silly situation?
