| Those anime series they show in other countries are mostly for kids or pre teens.. and in the 80's and early 90's they censored many "brutal" anime series at least here in Finland so they could either show those on TV or sell as VHS tapes. I remember when I first saw Ginga Nagareboshi Gin (Silver Fang in English) uncensored and I wanted to cry many many many times while watching it. There were so many scenes that were cut out in the version I saw as a child but I'm happy I got the uncensored one now. The censored one was pretty much suitable for children but the uncensored one ... whoa. And most of my friends saw the censored one as children so they don't know anything about the real thing. That's one of the reasons why on high school I couldn't admit I watch anime. But in college and after graduation I've just stopped giving a crap about what people think :P |
